Just a reminder that Henry Cuellar, who is anti-choice and a transphobe, was primaried by a young, Hispanic woman named Jessica Cisneros in a safe Dem district. She is the daughter of Mexican immigrants, and she worked as an immigration / asylum attorney.

She lost in 2020 to Cuellar by 1700 votes. In 2022, she ran again. The Dem establishment knew the race was close, and so they lined up behind Cuellar EVEN AFTER THE DOBBS DRAFT LEAKED. Again, this is an anti-choice Dem in a safe seat. Nancy Pelosi and Jim Clyburn, in particular, were vocal in supporting Cuellar. Cisneros lost by 289 votes.

I will say as a municipal employee, ARPA and the other COVID bills gave us funds to do things we wouldn't have otherwise. We've been able to fund things or start new programs like standing up our own emergency shelters, provide our own local rent/mortgage assistance, fund food equity programs, purchase our own mobile showers for unhoused populations, etc. That's a non-exhaustive list and we didn't even get that much!

Wow. That fuckin sucks. I used multiple Starbucks for Wi-fi when we lived in a motel room for about two weeks after moving to OR. The smell of any coffee shop is nauseating to me, but couldn't beat it for getting cold air and wifi to get my resume out there. I'd buy an occasional Refresher, and their restrooms are some of the only public restrooms in certain areas. They can fuck right off with this nonsense.
