Idk, I’ve read or heard a handful of drummers say they either didn’t or flat out don’t record to a click. I wouldn’t encourage it, but if you’re Abe Cunningham, you can do whatever the fuck you want man lol

 

i do think there’s an argument that if your drummer can hack it, you can get more natural and lived in recordings without a click so i don’t think a click is *necessary* but faulting anyone for using one is a real way to tell on yourself as a non-ball knower
