I met a guy from SF a month ago while traveling and when he heard I was from Denver he told me all about how it had been overrun by Venezuelan gangs. I told him I have seen no evidence of this and it was clearly something overblown in the media. Then freaked out on me, saying that just because I say it’s not happening in Denver it doesn’t mean it’s not happening in other places. Incredibly strange interaction.
