I use search like, once a month. Just not part of my viewing habits haha

 

Fair enough haha 75% of my viewing is YouTube searches

 

Voice capture would be one reason; I don’t trust either of those companies with that data, but personally I don’t like what Google already knows about me and try and limit their reach as much as possible. Don’t need them knowing more, but I also like to limit the extra network traffic, why waste any of it on the spy shit these device are doing?

 

It’s basically what I do, but with the Apple TV because I vastly prefer its interface for being a glorified Plex playing device. But for that … it’s excellent!

 

I leave always on listening off on my TVs and never use my voice to search for things on any of my smart TV devices

I do have Google speakers controlling my lights and music tho lol so I am a dumbass for having those on all the time

 

Yep, that and th fact that a TV OS can lag as it saves and your phone remains snappy so it can be way quicker.


And I can also be a filthy pirate and if i can't access something on the TV i can always cast from my phone :]

 

Yeah I don't even use YouTube, period
