Didn’t see the whole thing because I kept falling asleep, but I’m glad Ian Garry had a good showing and proved he belongs at the top. Gave Shavkat his toughest fight from what I saw. I don’t think the loss sets him back much so if Shavkat can’t make it to the fight with Belal for some reason, he’ll get the shot.

Welterweight is in a weird place right now so it’s pretty wide open for Buckley. You can beat one of these older, semi-washed dudes and get to the title. The top is still filled with a lot of the previous generation of guys like Usman, Colby, Burns, even Wonderboy, Luque, Neal, etc. Even Belal is up there in age for a champ at 170.

I feel like this year it’s going to flip to just being this new crop of guys like JDM, Buckley, Shavkat, Brady, etc.

 

Excellent card to end the year. Lots of options for Buckley's next fight but I want to see the Ian fight that was originally scheduled.
