Course the one evening I was feeling ill and went to bed early there was a restock on Swifty and I've been obsessively checking for it. Booourns

Maybe one more restock here in these last three ish hours? My daughter’s bday is coming up and trying to snag one for her.

Playing my Beneath Medicine Tree tour vinyl and the second disc is warped to bits. Don’t remember it being this bad when I played it the first time, bummer because it is one of the more limited pressings from that run, but oh well

happened with mine too (although i ordered from Smartpunk). had to use the heavy book method for about a month and change to get it anywhere near playable on side D.

makes me feel better it might’ve been a pressing issue or something. Haven’t had a warping issue this bad so will need to play at the heavy book or something like that

Does the heavy book method really work?

it's about 50/50 for me. by that i mean that i can generally get the record to a playable state (i.e. no skipping or needle bouncing out of the grooves) with at least a few weeks of pressure (from a couple evenly-distributed stacks of heavy books on a flat surface), but it's never been to a point where it's gotten completely flat. that would require much more time and heat than i have access to. there are some records in my collection i've just accepted i'll never be able to fully un-warp.

I've tried the heavy book method and it helped somewhat. But it took a while.

Apparently there's another method that involves putting the record in the oven, but sounds way too risky for me.

Some records unfortunately cannot be fixed using the heavy book method. My Offspring - Americana is still a bowl. :( It does still play pretty well though.

my most warped record is a signed copy of JT Daly's (Paper Route) solo album, Memory. he found them in a box in his attic and sent them along with a custom print from his sketchbook several years ago. unfortunately, that heat made the record pretty much unplayable, which is sad because that album is super rare and a hidden gem. i've thought about seeking out someone who could professionally flatten it, but i'm also skeptical just how well of a job they can do.
