  2. I haven't seen it yet but I think I got it spoiled for me, it sounds like my kinda shit but if Nosferatu couldn't break into my top ten I don't think that one will

It’s worth watching for the performances, alone.

I really need to brush up on my horror, I spent the past couple years exploring other genres and I look back feeling like I’ve been missing out on a lot and my knowledge is getting outdated. I should make it a goal this year to watch more horror and catch up on past stuff, looking at the lists posted confirms how much I’ve missed out on. I’m def gonna look at movies posted in here and fill in some gaps.

  10. I really really liked Nosferatu a lot, but it was honestly one of the single worst crowd experiences I’ve had in my life which unfortunately made it hard to absorb properly. We should have a DMV but instead of driving it’s for movie watching and every couple of years you have to get your license renewed and it can be revoked if you’re an asshole that can’t get it together

Gonna see it again next week in 35mm and hopefully override this viewing. An Eggers picture always hits harder the second time anyway

Yeah my second viewing was super annoying as a large group of people sitting farther down our row would not stop talking, snickering, or dropping stuff. One girl even took a phone call at one point. I love the movie theater DMV idea haha

Sadly, crowd etiquette is why I’ve mostly resorted to mid-week screenings after 9PM. Especially for horror.

Ignoring money as a factor, I would go to the theater so much more if people weren’t continuously getting more insufferable every year. Nosferatu was an outlier for me thankfully but pretty much everything else in the last 8 years has been some bullshit or another. Covid didn’t help. Everyone became so much more insufferable at a crazy rate after it. People are killing the theater industry more than streaming is imo.

  15. I know it's not on mine because I used Letterboxd to track what I watch and I think it's technically listed as a 2023 release, but I also think it's more thriller than horror. That being said, I fucking loved it

Romulus at #1 is SO bold, I gotta respect it even if I don't agree with it lol

  18. Hahah. It’s not without its issues, but I can’t say I’ve had as much fun watching anything else this year as I did the last 45 or so of that one. Though it fell at like number 5 on my overall list

I loved goosebumps growing up but never read Fear Street. Idk why. Is it worth it as an adult? I enjoy other YA stuff

I was also like this, and I also don't know why, because I certainly sought out similar stuff to Goosebumps. I read Bone Chillers, which wasn't by RL, but was still pretty okay. Shout out to Frankenturkey.

If you’re really interested, I actually just downloaded a pack of pretty much every book last week with the intent to check them out. As Goosebumps fans, I don’t know how we wouldn’t like a more mature version. The YA label doesn’t get the respect it deserves imo. A good book is a good book, ya know?

Not that I condone that sort of pirate behavior. But if you don’t have another source available to you, feel free to PM me.

Is anyone in here old enough to have read the Bailey School Kids series? I loved both Goosebumps and BSK and just went to an old bookshop recently and saw a ton of each of the og series

  23. I get it. I don't think I had a bigger smile on my face in theaters than when I saw Trap this year, flaws and all. Just had a blast watching it.
