I thought season 2 was pretty good, although not as great as the first. Looking forward to season 3

I enjoyed S2 as much as I did S1. The only downside is that it ends on a cliffhanger. Whatever.

If S3 is that soon and this one ends on an annoying cliffhanger like I've heard I'm just gonna wait until 3 is out

Deleted Netflix post. Screenshots have been going around since the post was made. I don’t have one saved

I enjoyed season 2 but I felt it retread some of the same ground in an annoying and long winded way. I also felt that the pacing was off with the first 2 episodes being them searching for the Island and then that plot line being barely touched for several episodes. I think they could have been spliced together for better suspense

    Example of retread ground...
Like the voting process... We understand how it works from S1, and on the first vote, the way it was shot went on far too long. It got a little better once we got to know the characters and cared about what they would do individually but I felt like the 3 vote scenes took up a substantial amount of the seasons runtime for very little reward

As for the season ending, I'm fine it ends on a cliffhanger and it very much feels like a half season but the takeover was pretty corny and unrealistic to where it almost felt like it was the 'here's how the plan should go' then it was going to cut to the disaster that it actually was. They got the guns and made a stand far too easily.

The voting was brutal. It’s like a full 20 minute scene every other episode

To be contrary, I thought the first 2 episodes were great and I really enjoyed how they bridged the seasons. It needed to not be rushed to make sense and feel 'grounded'. Though there are still plenty of issues I have with the idea in general, but it's better to just accept the basic premise and go with it.

The best aspects of S3 have to be what is #11 up to? and how do they incorporate 456 back into the games without everyone else being like wtf, why aren't you out for leaving the room?

There was some article that came out recently how Netflix wants very obvious and very repetitive writing in their shows now or something. Like how they're okay with people barely paying attention and being in their phones while watching....

Thats how I felt season 2 was written. There would be a dialogue that goes like this...

"Hey guys we have 67 votes and they have 63 that means they need to switch just 3 votes for us to win..."

"Wait so if 3 votes go our way we will have 66 and they have 64 which means we will lose"

    (Soneone votes)

" okay wow so now we have 64 and they have 66 which means we just need 2 more votes to win"

'So you're saying if we get 2 more votes then we will get out of here because 66 would be the majority?"

And over and over again. Like holy shit we get it. Where is the editor on this show?

I dont know if i believe that article, i think it was just a poorly executed attempt at suspense or a known gamble to stretch runtime for the split.

I think the most popular original dramas on all platforms continue to be pretty deep and complicated. Theres always going to be lame shows / movies with dumbed down writing but i have faith that what is leading the pack isn't that.

It's definitely a stark change from the fresher storyline of the first 2 episodes, but lets be honest, they had to get back to the games as quick as possible or people would be like where's the games in squid games?

I overall enjoyed the season despite partaking in some of the negative discussion above. Interested to see if you think it picks back up for you.
