I loved this. Didn't think it was "slow" at all.

Saw it alone in a nearly empty theater this afternoon. During an extremely quiet scene in the 3rd act (when she's walking around the house) you could hear "The Times They Are A-Changin'" from the next theater over. The distance of the sound and the context of the scene made it sound like the song was happening in the Nosferatu universe. I was fucking dying laughing to myself.

 

If they called the movie boring then I would interpret that as a critique of the movie as a whole, not them saying that it’s a “slow burn,” which would be them saying that it does pick up at the end and isn’t boring as a whole

This happened to me when I saw Killers Of The Flower Moon and the Taylor Swift Eras movie was playing next door

 

Loved this.

I thought ATJ was great, his reactions were busting me up.

Everything leading up to the castle and Thomas meeting Orlok for the first time was great. That shot of Thomas in the woods before the carriage comes is one of my favorite visuals of the year. Orlok suddenly being in different places in the room was really creepy. The sound design really set things off.

Was kinda bummed the cowboy didn't show up. I think I still like Coppola's version better for being hornier and a little more unhinged.

 

I refuse to believe he's as stealthy as they make him seem, jumping around the room like that. Bro was mouth breathing for days and I'd clock that sound from a mile away

i like it in the original, might be the best/coolest scene, but i get the reasoning

 

Visually, it was definitely one of the best I saw this year
