I mean, cmon, you can fucking play as Wolverine in that one

 

I think THUG was incredibly important and good when it came out but I feel like it's something that games like Skate built on very well, whereas the arcade style play of THPS1-4 benefits more from remaking since there's not as strong of alternatives

I haven't played Oblivion in so long. I tried Morrowind but couldn't get into it, I have this weird aversion to the graphics of older games but I'm fine with anything more modern that's actually pixel art. Like, I'm playing Unsighted right now and really enjoying it

Finished another game. Once again, a pretty relaxing one. I feel like @Penlab would have this game or should get it. Hard to describe but you are a sort of a fortune teller.

 

I do not own this but it looks like it's by Toge Productions, a company I'm fond of, so I'll definitely be picking this up.

 

Picked up the complete Tomb Raider remake trilogy because it’s on sale for like $11. Never played Rise or Shadow, but the first one rocked

 

Rise of the Tomb Raider is great and is my favorite of the bunch. Shadow is good but just feels like it is missing something. That is a steal though and should give you over 100 hours of playtime between the three, even for the stories alone.

uh... whoops. i think i broke the game. or like. exploited way too far.

there's this item that gives you +100% currency. I stacked five of those. and beat a boss. now I have 64000.

what do i even do with this much this late in the game

 

Rise is the best one. Shadow is pretty good as well, but Rise is the one. Enjoy

 

Beat Unsighted!

there's this interesting but stressful mechanic where, supposedly, you have a limited amount of time to beat the game. more specifically, unless you give NPCs a particular very limited resource, they'll end up dying. so you're scrambling to beat the game in a shorter amount of time while simultaneously trying to gather said resource and prioritizing who lives or dies. oh, and you yourself have a timer.

there's a setting to turn that off. so i did. the aptly titled "explorer mode" stops all the timers allowing you to take the time to explore. i also turned on the setting that made the combat more forgiving. i still died a fair amount if i wasn't careful, but it also didn't take dozens of tries to beat every boss. my save file says my playthrough was around twelve hours, my map info says i have 96.95% completion. but tbh a lot of my "exploration" was just me fucking around with fun item combinations. like the one that got me 50k currency from a single boss fight.

I can't help but think of Cookie Cutter, another metroidvania where you also play as a lesbian android, but the similarities stop there. the two games are very different tonally and stylistically, have different sets of strengths and weaknesses, and i enjoyed both immensely. but, ultimately, I found the story for Cookie Cutter to be very disappointing. at least story-wise, Unsighted is everything I wanted Cookie Cutter to be. while I had a lot of fun with Cookie Cutter's stylish ultraviolence, i also really appreciated Unsighted's plot and characters.

Playing F.I.S.T right now, just bought the new Prince of Persia and Nine Sols with xmas money, it's Metroidvania season in this household

 

Also the best soundtrack.

we decided to do the challenge mode in Phasmophobia and having the ghosts start haunting right away made it way more fun. We also finished the weekly challenge mode and we got hyped on that 5000 xp. I went up like 4 levels
