What’s the story with the Bengals D this year? Why were they so bad? They were pretty decent/good in years past, no?

Honestly I have no idea because not a whole lot has changed. Same coaches and playcaller and mostly the same roster. They've gotten production from their rookies and Myles Murphy is kind of doing something finally. The answer might just be Jessie Bates is a hall of famer. Look at the Jaguars defense. Atlanta had a shockingly good defense under Nielsen and suddenly we're one of the worst in the league

 

Who on the bengals defense could even be considered a blue chipper?

 

Based on this, I’ll be calling them the Pittsburgh Piles moving forward. Because what is a hill if not just a pile of dirt

 

Trey Hendrickson has been one of the best pass rushers in the NFL for a few years.

This gets said about every coach. They went from super bowl contender to a non-playoff team despite having arguably the MVP, OPOY, AND DPOY.

I’m saying I don’t think a 30 year old edge rusher, even a pretty productive one, is a blue chip prospect. Is he closer to being an all pro or a salary cap cut?
