Everybody suddenly a Die Hard fan on Christmas but when I go around telling random people "take your shoes off and make fists with your toes!" I just get looked at weird.

The "Die Hard is a Christmas movie" argument is so exhausting. It feels like people want to be seen as being different more than anything else. Who cares? Cannibal Holocaust can be a Christmas movie if you make the tradition happen.

It is dumb. I grew up believing it was a Christmas movie and watched it every Christmas Eve night since I was like 15. It is weird to me that is even an argument.

There is a character named Holly for godsake! Let It Snow plays over the end credits!

Two out of three of the stars became incredible actors. I can't think of any other long-running franchise that comes close.

The Tree of Life, The Master, Werckmeister Harmonies, and There Will Be Blood are probably the Mount Rushmore.

it's much longer-running but star wars seems like the obvious answer here

The comparison is tough because we have much more information about the Star Wars cast, but Pattinson and Stewart have done some very impressive stuff in a short timeline. Harrison Ford was a huge movie star, but not much of a respected dramatic actor. Hamill is a great voice actor but didn't really do much else in live-action film. Fischer did some good 80's films but had faded out before Star Wars came back around. Even Shire got the Rocky movies.

If we are going back to the Seventies then the Godfather would come up. DeNiro, Pacino, Keaton, and Cazale really blew up from there. Caan and Duvall got a lot bigger and it revitalized Brando's career.

Not a movie franchise, but I’ve always been impressed that all four main actors from Dawson’s Creek have worked consistently since the show ended

It's still surreal during the height of the Twilight franchise.. it was Anna Kendrick that was the one that broke out and was the first cast member to get Oscar nominated for her performance in Up In The Air

I'm not a list guy but the first ones that come to mind for me are Big Fish (I only watched it once and can't bring myself to watch it again because I cried so hard) and Shaun Of The Dead (Hot Fuzz too).
