    what a waste of wood

Hope you can figure it out eventually.. This happened to me last week. I had "it was 8am LA time" and the melody in which it was sung in my head for like 4 hours but couldn't place it. Ended up being Mermaid Parade by Phosphorescent.. It was making me absolutely miserable not being able to figure it out. Couldn't focus on anything else haha

For all I love Springsteen, Tom Petty and countless acts who have been influenced by Dylan, I am still massively unfamiliar with his discography. Do I start with Highway 61? Or is there a better intro album to consider?

Always feel like that’s a tough question to answer bc Dylan had so many different sounds/eras.

The Freewheelin Bob Dylan for his early stripped down folk stuff and several songs that are just absolute all timers.

Bringing It All Back Home for a solid mix of his early folk and early rock sound.

Blonde on Blonde or Highway 61 Revisited for when he went full rock. (I’ve always preferred Blonde on Blonde personally)

Blood on the Tracks is one of his absolute best and in my opinion his most accessible.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

Bringing It All Back Home is a great shout for a little bit of all his styles, imo a good one to start with

Personally I'd say skip the debut until you're a few records in but otherwise go in order. I could see an argument for starting with one of the early full band ones, but the acoustic records are just as essential and really (again, debut aside) no less accessible imo.

I’ve only read one and it was like 15 years ago, but I remember loving it and remember it being what really sparked my interest in a lot of his less popular albums.
