Unfortunately I only like 5 songs off of this and I absolutely hate the title track.

I probably won't go because prices are so high now and my spending is already racking up for next year's shows, but I'm super glad I got to go to the Power tour. Incredible show.

Just circling back to say that Hurt Feelings is becoming one of my all time favorite Halsey songs. Crazy to see after 2 months it still doesnt really have many streams.

My favorites on this are definitely “Lonely is the Muse” and “I Believe in Magic” (the latter has made me cry, lol, a distinction it shared this year with “Girl, so confusing featuring Lorde”).

But, I’m also really high on “Hurt Feelings,” “Lucky,” “Arsonist,” “Ego,” and “Only Girl in LA.” And, also, “Panic Attack” has been getting a growing number of plays from me. Depending on my mood, multiple other tracks I could also shout out, especially if I’m leaning into sad bitch vibes, lol.

Idk, I just still really like this. Not as successful as a consistently great album as her last, and I have some nitpicks on the sequencing, but so many highlights 4 me, personally.

I've actually grown to like this even more than her last. The highs are even higher and there's less weak points. Both are really great though. I still need to go back and check out her first three at some point.

I feel like I’m listening to a different album than some of you. There is no world in which this is better than if I can’t have love.

She doesn't have any full good albums, half an album at most

  19. I thought the last one was really good but haven't really gone back to it at all and still haven't made it through this despite my love for Alex G, so maybe she just isn't for me. I think her online persona turns me off a bit

I think they're both great and I could easily see why someone would prefer what she was doing on the last album but this one just hits me in all the right ways. It's more emotional, more musically diverse and there's not a single song on it that I don't at least really like.

I have very positive, perhaps almost defensive feelings about this new album, because of a blend of loving the best songs and riding a wave of getting very into her this past fall.

But, her last one for me is easily the better album. I like the best songs there more than here, and like the lows more there than here (if they’re even low enough to call lows), and the sequencing works a lot better there. It’s just such a confident, focus project with such a clear identity that works so very well for me. “You asked for this,” “Bells in Santa Fe,” “Lilith,” “honey,” “1121”… just never get old.

As someone who loves COWBOY CARTER more than most on this site, I’m certainly primed to like a long, winding pop album. But, with continued listening, I’ve come to think cutting 2-3 tracks from The Great Impersonator and tweaking the sequencing a bit would help a lot. Will still be high on my personal favs of the year, though; my least favorite tracks are still at minimum decent to my ears.

  22. I’m not into this album outside of the singles. Doesn’t really have many criticisms towards it, it’s just that the main soundscape isn’t what I wanted from Halsey or what I listen to lately.

Good thing is, speaking from experience, it means it’s likely to be a huge grower, one of those albums that suddenly click when I rediscover them further down the line.
