Yep. Watch this movie you’ve seen a million times and then spend 20 minutes hearing an old racist tell the same old stories. At least the “Home Alone” screenings with Macaulay Culkin seemed fun.

 

I don't remember what we read in high school, it was too long ago

 

I’m not sure where to post this or what to say about it so I settled with this thread

 

The funny thing about the Odyssey is that the translation used in schools is pretty modern and we read it after we did Romeo and Juliet so the students didn't understand how the newer story was so much easier to understand.

We read the Odyssey freshman year of high school, but I already knew the story anyways. Can't remember how, I guess from pop culture? Idk

 

Freshman year of high school for me too. But I knew of it from this book I used to take out from my elementary school library. Always thought it was so cool for some reason.

I learned today the showrunner of that sitcom Florida Girls grew up in the same town as me, was a few years ahead of me in high school, and worked at the same scientology owned telemarketing place i did for a little bit.

 

I learned today that my friends family met Jonbenet Ramsey not too long before she died. Although, they didn’t know it was her until she was all over the news. To them, she was a young girl with done up hair with parents who wouldn’t allow her to get her hair wet or play Barbie with my friends sister.

 

I love current Nolan, but I absolutely would not want to see him do Medea, lol.

 

We read it freshman year of high school, but our teacher also loved O’ Brother Where Art Thou and particular the Soggy Bottom Boys song. We spent about a month just watching the movie because he would always restart it from that point.

It is catchy and I mentally associate it with not having to do any work, so yea what’s not to love?
