I've gotten the "we'd love you even if you were gay" conversation a bunch of times, it's so sweet and well intention-ed but also awkward

 

lol yeah it's always well-intentioned and like cool I'm glad they'd be supportive but it's weird. Like today I was talking to my sis and she said "If you find a man you want to spend your life with......[stilted pause] or a woman, you'll understand" and I was like "..."

But she also said she thinks I don't want to get married cause I don't want a man to boss me around which I feel shows she doesn't know me that well lol. Like of course I don't want a man to boss me around, but that's def not where my hesitance of marriage comes from.

 

My mom told my current girlfriend on the first time that they met "Wow, we thought Mike was just gay," like 10 minutes into meeting.

 

I have uncles and cousins that have said the same thing when I would bring girlfriends to family events. I have a lisp and my wardrobe consists of more than jeans and a NASCAR shirt so I think that's about the basis of their reasoning.

 

My family use to think this about me too cus growing up I never was the poster of chicks half naked type kid, add on the whole black nails, super close/loose with best friends, and like you - not talking about girlfriends/crushes. I'm straight as can be, but I was just always more of a sapiosexual and into like the bond more so than just the sex so I guess they just didn't understand until I started butting heads with them over the women I was with lol.

When my Dad met my fiancee my best friend was there too and he flat out told her "I thought Josh and Croix were always gay together" he said it jokingly but I know him better than that. He does the awkward jokes to get out his suppressed thoughts lol smh.

 

I think I may need to break up with my girlfriend and hoo boy does the idea of what comes after that scare the shit out of me. Specifically our living situation

 

start figuring up your budget, looking for potential places, talking to friends or family about letting you stay on their couch/spare room or helping you move, etc. Get a plan together and make it as easy as possible.

 

This break-up has been rough. I'm ready to move on, but now she's regretting the decision for us to split, and it's mentally destroying me to have to keep telling her no, and then she almost makes me feel guilty. It's especially hard because I truly want to be friends with her, especially during this time, because of how much she's dealt with the past few weeks.

 

It's pretty messy. I think we just end up making ammends with every blow out battle because of what a cluster fuck it would be to fully separate our stuff and someone actually move out. I just don't see how it would work financially, or at all really.

Yeah, we live with two of our friends and I have no doubt that it would all be civil enough for me to be able to stay there while I looked. Mostly being on the lease and not wanting to leave them all high and dry looking to supplement my portion of rent.

Yeah, it's a scary concept monetarily, also in that we moved to OR from NY so I have like no family here haha. But idk, I don't think either of us really want to end it, but I just feel stuck at this impasse where in whatever way we resolve things, it's going to be unfair to one another. But idk, that's life I guess, thank you though.

Sort of have a thing with a girl except that our schedules are nuts, so I only see her 1 or 2 times a week. But I guess it's good because we are both very independent. Idk.

She was there waiting for her food as well. the place was taking forever to get our orders out so we started chatting. we talked for about 10 minutes and i worked up the nerve to ask for her number.

 

I havent texted her yet. thinking about asking her if she's still waiting for her food. idk. im bad at this stuff.

You gotta block her on everything. She will never be better if you are the one helping her. You are the last person in the world who can help her through the break up. You can be friends later, hopefully. The more you stick around the harder it is and the far more painful it is for both you. Send one last message explaining why you need a clean break and then block her on everything. Otherwise the healing will never truly start and no one can move on with their life.
