February is so so stacked

 

Finished TLOU Part 1 today, and yeah, amazing game. Stoked that my gf is getting me Part 2 for Christmas.

 

I recently played both for the first time, too. Both are so good!

 

Over 5 million more units than my game sold.

 

Completed another game last night. Pretty chill and similar to Aery but far more janky. The game froze on me a handful times. The music is really great.

 

At this point, I have played every game I am going to play by the end of the year so its time to post my year end list. I would say that I loved the top 5 games in this list so by my standards, it was a very good year. Would love to see all of yalls

Shouts out to Metaphor and Kunitsu-Gami, two games that I feel could have made this list if I had gotten around to them.

 

This is a great list of games I probably could have played this year instead of what I'm choosing to do instead. I make poor decisions about my free time.

for games that came out this year that i played at least (i'll give a rating to anything i beat)
[in no particular order]

Animal Well, 10/10, phenomenal for someone's first game, deserved more GOTY nods
Metal Slug Tactics, still playing, pixel art is gorgeous, fantastic gameplay loop, unfortunate laggy sluggish performance on Switch
Zelda Echoes of Wisdom, still playing somehow, i don't like that they just used LA assets instead of original ones but its fine, gameplay is fun enough, adding TOTK-like features to top-down Zelda is a fun way to invigorate the formula, doesn't hold my attention like it does in 3D tho
The Plucky Squire, still playing, same as MS Tactics- rough Switch performance, great art direction, little hand-holdy
Tekken 8, fantastic game, i know ppl in the fgc/tekken community are bitching a bunch but its an amazing game w lots to do, for example- get my ass kicked 99% of the time while trying to learn Xiaoyu
Thank Goodness You're Here! 10/10, possibly the funniest game i've ever played, short enough to finish in an afternoon, very simple to play- never not funny to slap every thing & one in existence
Balatro, 10/10, need i say more
Kunitsu-Gami Path of the Goddess, still playing, really cool action-tower defense game, gorgeous art design on the monsters/enemy models
Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree, 9/10, such a great add-on for ER with some unbelievably cool vistas & boss fights, but many of the areas feel way too empty and have literally nothing to do outside of ONE side-quest
Nine Sols, still playing, really fun and well animated metroidvania w Sekiro-like parrying, not too hard but trying to parry multiple enemies in one fight is kinda fucked

and that's all i can think of!

 

I'm close to having my GOTY list,

I think I want to get my hands on 1000xResist and Mouthwashing, and, ideally play more Crow Country and Tactical Breach Wizards, but this is the most new games I've played in a year since like 2019.

 

PoE is so addicting. Need to finish Indiana this weekend

 

I dabbled a little in PoE 2 since I wanted to see what a “difficult” ARPG would feel like.

I was shocked how competent that game is.

Havent found it too difficult. Especially now I have a few legendary pieces of gear. Certainly not From Software levels like some people claimed. It is easy to get overwhelmed though and movement is so slow

 

I think any sort of resistance is giving ARPG players whiplash. I did not find it difficult either. Definitely don’t put it in the newspapers that I thought it was difficult.

 

Crow Country and Metaphor are what’s keeping me from finishing mine

 

Yeah those are def contenders!!!

 

Just completed another game. This is one I started a ways back but put it on the back burner. It is a pretty simple open world game that only requires you to complete the main quests for the completion but there is honestly a lot to do and you can even go back to side quests after you complete the game. It is a really cute game with a heartwarming story.

 

Im playing Mother 3 AGAIN somehow, I could play this on an infinite loop and never get tired of it, UGH I gotta get Rebirth and Infinite Wealth done by 12/31, IM GONNA DO IT

 

Metaphor! Just got to 9/10……

 

Once I wrap up Metaphor or Veilguard I should have my list ready.
