Yeah this one meanders a bit too much for me

  4. I dig it. Could do without the long outro, though.

I haven't ever liked a record of his Save maybe two songs and doesn't seem like this will be the album that does it. That song is pretty boring.

    2/2 for me

I don't mind the song being long, imo artist don't do enough instrumentally and it's refreshing when a bigger artist makes room for the instrumental to shine. The vocal effects are amazing and hoping to hear more of them. Think this is going to be a great album!

Sounds like he's been listening to D'Angelo.

Still listening to it, I would like it so much more if he didn't pitch up his vocals

theres nothing to distinguish this from other songs in the same style, a style that has been done to death. very unoriginal but since its different for him as an artist its being construed as such.

I think the production is very unique personally, it's way more electronic and inorganic than it sounds which i think is really interesting!

than from the artist he's clearly pulling from (funkadelic/d'angelo) their music is amazing but its focus is performance centered. This is more concerned with the sounds themselves and i think that is an interesting approach. Sort of like what Kendrick did on TPAB but obviously with a different origin.

Electronic tinged funk isn't exactly new either. Flylo, thundercat, and others on the brain feeder label have been doing that

  18. Not a big fan of this one, really don't like those vocal effects. Could grow on me in context though.

this doesn't sound like thundercat or flylo to me that much, also those are amazing musicians who consistently bring something interesting and change their sound.

So in terms of the song I like the vocals. But him pitching up his vocals like that kind of.....makes it not him? I'm struggling to get across what I mean, like not that "OH THIS SOUND IS NOT GAMBINO" but it's not really his voice like this. Like it could honestly be anyone who just pitched up their vocals kind of. It's weird to think about.

Whatever, it's a cool enough song and going from the first track and this it'll be a fun album for sure.

I instantly loved the instrumental and although the vocal effects took me by surprise at first, I love this now after a few listens.

My parents have loved both songs too which is cool since they usually hate any kind of hip-hop music (which I know this isn't but you know what I mean), they compared this song to Prince which I could definitely see

Exactly! I love the creativeness behind what he is doing, but I'm left missing his old flow.
