I’m late to this but… I went to 54 shows this year (I counted Summer Slam on my list because Jelly Roll performed two songs, Jerry Cantrell performing the national anthem, a hockey game Emo night where Heart Attack Man played after the game. I also counted the two comedy shows I went to in my list. So 50 actual musical concerts), my tops:

    8) Tyler Childers | 6.30 | The Pavilion At Starlake | Burgesstown, PA
    7) Taking Back Sunday | Small Stage Show (acoustic) | 6.18 | The Foundation Room at House of Blues Cleveland | Cleveland, OH
    6) Jason & The 400 Unit / Pale Hound | 3.9 | The Benedum Center | Pittsburgh, PA
    5) The National / War on Drugs | 9.21 | Blossom Music Center | Cuyahoga Falls, OH
    4) Chris Stapleton | 5.31 | Blossom Music Center | Cuyahoga Falls, OH
    3) Bruce Springsteen | 4.21 | Nationwide Arena | Columbus, OH
    2) Childish Gambino / Willow | 8.15 | Value City Arena | Columbus, OH
    1) Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony 2024 | 10.19 | Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse | Dave Matthews Band / Robert Trujillo, Chad Smith, Andrew Watt w/ Maynard James Keenan, Wolfgang Van Halen, Jelly Roll, Zakk Wylde, Billy Idol, Steve Stevens (Ozzy Tribute) / Mary J. Blige (w/ Lucky Day, Elle Mae) / Foreigner (w/ Demi Lovato, Sammy Hagar, Kelly Clarkson) / The Roots w/ Queen Lafita, De La Soul, Common, Busta Rhymes (A Tribe Called Quest tribute) / Peter Frampton w/ Keith Urban / James Taylor, Kenny Chesney & Mac McNally (Jimmy Buffet tribute) / Dave Matthews (solo - Jimmy Buffet tribute) / Dione Warwick (w/ Jennifer Hudson, The Roots) / Kool & The Gang w/ The Roots / Cher w/ The Roots, Dua Lipa | 10.19. | Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse | Cleveland, OH

6 gigs this year in the UK/Ire with an active effort to be selective given parental responsibilities. 3 artists I hadn't seen live in 20 years.

3/27 - John Mayer solo - paled in comparison to the full band gigs I've been to. Intimacy was good but a one-paced affair. (2/5)

6/25 - Green Day. Tremendous. Dookie was my gateway into alternative music and it was a fantastic stadium rock gig executed perfectly. (5/5)

7/30 - Alkaline Trio. Impulse attendance and was above expectations, nice to at least be in the vicinity of a mosh pit these days. (4/5)

8/17 - AC/DC. My all time favourite band. 80k people singing Highway To Hell. What a feeling. (5/5)

11/12 - Yellowcard. Enjoyable gig and OA heavy but I was there for nostalgia which I am less likely to base my attendance on in the future as had forgotten about it soon after (3/5)

12/12 - Jimmy Eat World - excellent. 23, Goodbye Sky Harbor, Blister. (4/5)

50 Cent was on ABC News yesterday to promote his Vegas residency and he mentioned there's a stadium tour for next year being planned.

Did I miss something? When did he start becoming popular again lol. I remember 10 years ago he was struggling to sell out Webster Hall. Then suddenly last year he's doing Barclays Center. But still stadiums feels like a huge leap. Unless its as support for Eminem.

    The intrusive whisper fascinates me

I’m confused because I thought he did a big amphitheater tour last year that was supposed to be his final tour?

But to answer your question… 2000’s nostalgia, I’m pretty sure

Maybe Eminem is gonna make good on those stadium holds he has had the last two summers.

Music Advocates Angered Over Ticket Act in Funding Bill

Interesting article. I didn't realize there are now like "seat saver" services to buy tickets which is wild to me. I guess if you're super rich you can hire a service and just be like "Get me in these sections, max price this, etc"

I still can't get over this is the same band that was the opener for ~500 caps a mere TWO MONTHS AGO.

  20. estacey99

Oh yeah, oh yeah, everything is terrible.

I can't get over seeing the album played in full minus the instrumental interlude (albeit out of order) in 2016 and my stupid ass is still gonna get tickets whenever it comes close enough

Will definitely have to watch the interview but that sounds awesome. I saw him a handful of times last summer and will be doing a few of the Vegas shows.

Stadiums do sound a bit extreme unless the lineup is crazy. An Eminem tour would be awesome!

  24. cricketandclover

    Things have changed.

I'd be stunned if Eminem toured, but I'd go.
