John // OC now, OH forever.

Good for them hitting up markets they likely have never played before, but they deserve better.

i enjoy how static-x has taken the the rob zombie philosophy of touring by going through all the similarly sized nostalgic metal bands to co-headline tours with year after year. first was fear factory, then sevendust, now gwar

I think a large part of it is how they can be seen as a “hardcore” band and the type of agro asshole dude bros that attracts. It’s crazy how the front will be predominately women, but as soon as Bayside starts a bunch of guys shove their way up and start crushing them to the point where they all leave.

    Things have changed.

Their fans have been assholes for years. I saw them when they opened for Anberlin in like 2007 and their fans were openly mocking fans of Anberlin and the opening bands.

  13. The Bayside fan reputation has been a weird point of fascination for me for years. Everywhere in the country, no matter who they're touring with, and as nice as they seem in interviews, they somehow bring out the worst crowds.

Bayside fans were awful to Balance and Composure in Chicago on their 2010 tour. I almost always have a bad experience with Bayside fans at their shows. They're always the nicest guys though. Chris and Jack are always cool to talk to after shows.

As a huge Bayside fan, and someone who has seen them numerous times, I guess I am blind to it. I guess I have never seen that happen in my city but that doesnt mean it doesnt happen. The fans were totally into Armor for Sleep and Finch last time they were here. Every time I see them they always come with bands I love so maybe I am just blind to it since I usually love every band on the bill.

It's interesting how the "Bayside fan" discussion seems to come from two angles. The overzealous Bayside devotees who only care about that band. And the bro dude contingent.

The former is pretty unique to Bayside in my experience. But let's not act like there isn't a sea of bros looking to "go hard" at every New Found Glory or Taking Back Sunday show. It's really cool that all of these bands were able to grow and evolve, pulling from different types of people throughout their career... But man, is it always a "culture clash" at shows like that.

  18. Least favorite show I went to: Red Hot Chili Peppers
I stayed for 2 songs and then was like "Why did I even come here? I fucking hate this band." And then I drove home.

Really hoping this isn't just a one-off (but it probably is). Snapcase is one of my very few remaining "bands I'd love to see but never have."

Trust me, I wouldn't! The stars just haven't aligned. And I think the last time they've been to MA for a show was in like, 2003? One of these days...

My musical taste is pretty broad, especially when it comes to anything under the "rock & roll" umbrella, but I absolutely despise Red Hot Chili Peppers :crylaugh:
