I made gingerbread cookies and I remember why I never bake lol my kitchen is awful. I have one little bit of countertop so I’m trying to roll out the dough. Then one batch is done but I only have that little bit of countertop so I have no where to let the cookies cool so it just is an absolute nightmare. Then I’m trying to move the cookies while they are still warm just to free up space so then the cookies are breaking off on the little gingerbread arms. They taste great but good god they are a disaster lol my oven is also older than me so even though I made sure all the cookies were the same thickness they were all baking different even on the same tray. No more baking from now on lol

Kind of annoying. But I mean, if it means my account is more secure, then fine I guess?

 

honestly using a code is sometimes easier than remembering passwords lol

 

I dont have a code emailed to me at work, but I do have the Microsoft authenticator app pop up on my phone and it asks me to type a 2 digit number that appears on my laptop screen for certain things

 

I don't mind 2FA/MFA and use it everywhere I can and recommend that everyone does. I was just referring to sites that rather than ask for the password that I have, they email me a code. I guess it'd be less annoying if I didn't utilize a password manager but it's like, I already have the password on my clipboard, I'd rather not have to open my email just to log in.

I have to use them to sign in to 3 different things every morning. It’s annoying.

 

Soooo I emailed my boss over 2 weeks ago bc we never got our healthcare info. I needed to know that cost bc I sign up through the ACA and they need to know how much your work healthcare would cost to see if you qualify. They told me it would cost the same so that's what I put on my ACA application. Now we finally got the healthcare papers and guess what!! It definitely doesn't cost the same! It actually costs double! But idk how important that is on my application and it won't let me edit it. I'd have to delete my application and start over. So now idk what to do bc idk how important the accuracy is. Like it's double so obviously I still qualify but idk!!

 

Ugh I've been trying to get a refurbished laptop from Amazon for a month now. First one came with a broken fan. Had to wait 2 weeks for a refund and another 2 weeks for the replacement. Replacement today has a pressure mark on the display as if someone pushed on it hard with their thumb.

This was supposed to be in "excellent condition". Absolutely insane. I called to complain though and this time they aren't going to make me wait for a refund and said they'll express ship it so I get it by the 20th. I can wait to send back the old one until then.

My car has been doing this annoying thing the last couple years where it has stopped responding to my key if I try unlocking my car.

If I press either lock or unlock on my key, my car just does nothing, so I have to manually lock/unlock it every time.

I thought it was because my key needed a new battery, but swapping out the battery did nothing. I also tried my spare key which also did nothing, so it basically confirms it’s something with my car.

Also, the lock on the passenger door doesn’t work, so I have to lean over and flip it to lock/unlock it if someone’s riding with me.

Idk if it’s worth shelling out money to fix either issue if it’s just an inconvenience. But it sure is annoying

 

Oh man, this exact thing happened to me earlier this year. I don’t recall all the details but essentially my only option was buy a whole new key fob for hundreds and maybe that still wouldn’t work which would mean more investigation into my car which means more money. I drive a car from 2012 so no way I’m doing that lol but manually locking and unlocking is annoying as shit and I probably don’t need to since I don’t have anything in my car and again, it’s from 2012 so it’s not calling attention to itself or appealing to criminals but I just know if I stop locking it that will be exactly when irony strikes and something does happen lol

Moving On
Ordered an open box Ableton Move as a pick up from the Alexandria store. Picked up the item from the store. At home I find the screen is glitching. I return to the store to exchange my item, the staff member apologises explaining the staff yesterday should have checked it before giving it to me. The staff member informs me they can exchange it for a new item but I will have to pay the difference. I said I don't think that is fair and that the store should honour my original discount, the staff member says the manager will have to make that decision. The manager says they can meet me halfway to the original discount, I respond I don't understand why I am being asked to meet you halfway when I have not done anything wrong, you were supposed to check my item and I have already wasted my time travelling back and forth to the store which is a 2 hour round trip. The manager decided to play hard ball and said I could either have a refund for the open box product or accept the new discount and pay the difference. I accept to pay the difference. The manager then asks if I want to check the new product, I ask if this will involve opening the box? The box is opened, the product is checked, I pay the difference and leave with my item.

“It’s not the note you play that’s the wrong note – it’s the note you play afterwards that makes it right or wrong.” I can accept that the staff made a mistake and did not check my item, the store was busy and these things happen. When presented with the opportunity to make it right by their customer Store Dj’s management chose to abuse their power dynamic for $11.

I always whine about not being able to do my hair well, but I'm whining again. I follow social media accounts where they do hairstyles with those little clear elastics and idk what I'm doing wrong but those things suck! I've never had them not break in my hair midday. I have thick hair but it's not like crazy abnormally thick but I never see anyone else complain about it. They always make it look so easy.
