graphically it's probably one of my favorite games ever, technically by far my favorite.

can't stand anything else about it.

Feels like ideological investment in the failure of that game is probably one of the reasons it flopped. I say this as an innocent bystander with no skin in the game.

Wow Mass Effect collection for 5 bucks, gotta get that, I beat the first one and then I couldn't get into the second one (which I know everyone loves) I need to try it again.

Picked up Metaphor: ReFantazio over the weekend and I have so many good things to say about it, chief among them is mission: “Get to the anus!” Lol

my aim isn’t the best at games like valorant that I feel like aren’t forgiving with giant hit boxes like cod so I kinda gave up on them since they want you to aim for headshots.

  10. well fuck, i was gonna play Jedi Survivor on Gamepass eventually but if it's under twenty bucks already i might as well buy it

aside from Veilguard I already have every Dragon Age and Mass Effect. I haven't started ME3 or Andromeda tho.

Good time to pick those up if you haven't already

There's one in the sci-fi fantasy books thread and it seems to work well every year. I joined for the first time this year and just sent my package off.

It just needs someone to run point and distribute addresses and make sure that the buyer knows what format the person prefers / games they already have etc so it could turn into quite a bit of work. It was only 10 in the other thread which isn't a ton. I think you'd get double that in here raising their hand to participate.

here's the secret. everybody sucks at aiming. in these games, the key is for your crosshair to already be where you suspect the enemy will be by learning the flow of the maps/phases and then all that should be left for you is clicking.

also my recommendation is to make sure your crosshair is also at head-height at all times instead of near the ground.

so I'm actually thinking of organizing this video game thread secret santa as I am only blocking one person but would unblock him for this purpose, I am just trying to find a way to best do it!

Obviously with Steam it's very easy as we can just send each other keys or buy stuff off of our respective wish lists, but what do we do with Xbox/PS/Nintendo peeps? Just send 20 dollar gift cards for the eShop equivalent? that seems kinda anticlimactic.

Unfortunately I think this would need to be a steam only thing

  17. Yeah I think for just the ease of it (gift cards are easy too) and Steam deals it’ll probably be best to keep it with Steam.

though, I personally wouldn’t be opposed to getting someone something for console. I think both PS and Xbox have a gift feature now?

More at the link but here's some

-Gear in chests, as quest rewards, from unique targets etc.
-As Yasuke you can equip two weapons and can go melee/melee, melee/ranged, or ranged/ranged. Naoe has two melee weapons at a time you can swap between it seems like.
-There's a procedural faction system where vying factions will gain or diminish in power as seasons progress and this might change the layout of rewards and valuables in camps and the like that can appear dynamically.
-Hidden trail parkour and grappling hook challenges for Naoe with some secrets to discover.
-You can recruit specific allies to your cause. These are defined characters with bespoke quests and abilities, and they can augment your capabilities, so you might supplement Yasuke with stealth characters or presumably Naoe with combat characters. Not super clear how this works.
-Large scale battles at points to show the scope of the war.
-Controller remapping and a bevy of options, stuff like camera auto-follow etc.
-Shadows will rework some of the existing AC Memories lore.
-There is a "canon choice" animus mode which will make dialogue choices etc. for the player to show a specific set history, and it seems like it might be like syndicate where characters for missions are pre-set but can change in the open world.
-Wanted system where alarms will cause guardians to station on roads etc. Elapses as seasons change, and can explore other regions, or just deal with the greater threat.
-Delay has involved polishing and bugfixes, improvements to parkour fluidity, combat animations, cinematic transitions, etc.
-Hattori Hanzo is in the game.
Some of the cinematic scenes brought the dev team to tears with how moving they were.
-Re: nonlinear targets -- they still have bottlenecking points which enforces some elements of linearity with the target's questchain, and then some quests can evolve in different ways depending on who you complete the quest as.
-Historical database similar to Mirage, no discovery mode planned for now.
-Hideout is a cozy place that you will visit to gossip and catch up with friends and characters you recruit.
-While the game has a singular canon ending, there are a variety of paths there and differing configurations that will influence what characters are there in the ending.
-Black and White is for fighting unique targets, can't be disabled.
-Limited modern day story that will introduce a bigger story in the hub.
    -Back eject is in.
-Stuntman broke leg doing the mocap for one of the parkour flip moves.
-Can wear multiple outfits for each character and can upgrade all of them.
-All your base upgrades have tangible gameplay impacts.

Close to origins in scale sounds pretty dope to me. That game would’ve been better if half the map wasn’t just endless sand so this setting should be able to utilize that space

Yeah I just skimmed the first 10 or so questions of the shadows ama and I’m really looking forward to this one now. May get an AC game in before it comes out. I’ve got save files going on 4 and odyssey but I was almost thinking about a syndicate replay

Yeah I like what I'm seeing too. Only thing I don't like is the minimal focus of modern day story (i Iove the modern day stuff) and apparently no Basim appearance (so no "other" stuff) but I guess they gotta push people to the AC Hub or w/e they're calling it.

For those playing/enjoying Indy does the whole thing have the playable movie with button commands feel to it that the prologue does? Wondering if I should press on or if it’s just not for me
