It would be cool to have Matt and Fred swap out with John and Shaun and have an open door policy. One can dream!

But when they tour with Fred and it still doesn’t sound exactly like it did 17 years ago, who will people ask for to come back next????

Fred coming back is the most excited I've been for this band in years.
But I don't like this talk of John sitting out. Would be much cooler for them both to be a part of it.

I am ready for Fred to be back. But could be a one off show. Likely only possible because Mark left.

  6. Keep John doing what he does, and let Fred do Adam's parts, and just let Adam throw the mic around.

Having been to tbs shows throughout a variety of the lineups, I can’t imagine the stage banter and vibes being what they are now with Fred in John’s place? Also, I understand that sometimes things come up and you can’t go on a tour, but boy does it feel weird to spend a whole tour cycle (and years before it!) talking about how you don’t want to be a nostalgia act to then turn around and get the other guy to be the fill in. Hearing Fred on the new stuff will be really weird (and I kind of don’t want to actually!) and it feels like a setlist would probably lean louder now heavy, which it already kind of does, and we all agree that Adam’s vocals are better suited to the new stuff.

it also just… would be interesting to use a photo of John, Shaun, and Adam for promo for the upcoming fest dates they have for 2025 to then turn around and be like “oh yeah actually the lineup has changed again!” Even temporarily.

a true bummer that we're gonna spend the next however many months now baselessly speculating why john would be sitting out for a bit.

If he did, I imagine it would be related to something with his shoulder possibly? (Just to get a jump on the speculating ;) )

  10. They could just have touring obligations next year already, and John planned on doing it but now can't, so they are making it work without having to cancel. It's gonna be ok.

Pretty wild they’re taking Fred back and not Eddie

Well, Fred hasn’t spent his entire time out of tbs making weird facebook posts about the band so I don’t think it’s that wild

Maybe in 2026 they can just go on tour as the TBS guitarists, John/Fred/Fazzi/Eddie just out there jamming with no singer, bass, or drums

i mean, 1) not really, it does not sound like the eddie situation is remotely reparable, and 2) fred is a better and more lead focused guitarist than eddie.

Hang on just imagining Eddie doing the singing/screaming and having a grand ol time over here

Straylight is actually opening and John refuses to do double duty. Shaun and Nathan will because they’re champs.

    See you at the shows

Now that Fred playing with TBS is fully on the table, I echo the sentiment that an album and tour with both him and John would be rad.

Certainly a better scenario for Fred than coasting off TBS nostalgia without being connected to the band, and playing with Say Anything.

As someone who became a fan shortly before Fred's departure, seeing him onstage with them again makes me feel what I imagine Tell All Your Friends era fans felt when John and Shaun came back.
