My memory of Girls is that it was a mostly awful show that i shan’t watch again, but periodically I’ll see a clip that makes me second guess 20s-self that made that decision.

 

Girls is good and holds up better than you'd think.

I haven’t watched it since it aired, but I remember Girls being good at first and was ok by the end. Lena Dunham, however, sucks shit

The "infrastructure" (aka money) is the real reason. Every one of those checks that had been written over the previous 3.5 years was written to the Biden/Harris campaign. Harris was the only candidate who could still cash them. Otherwise, they would have had to contact every single donor over 3.5 years to find out if they still wanted to contribute to the campaign of someone new. So run a primary, pick a new candidate, contact every donor, and raise funds in 107 days. There was no chance.

The DNC and Biden both fucked us by not adhering to Biden being a single-term, stopgap president. There should have been a real primary, and Biden shouldn't have been one the options. The DNC "played it safe" as they always do, and they assumed he would win a second time. They hid his cognitive decline until there was no way to hide it, on that debate stage. And by then, it was too late.

The Harris campaign screwed up by being loyal to Joe and not throwing him under the bus. Her popularity was highest right when she was announced, because people thought she would be different. She branded herself as a younger version of Joe, and that was the end of it. It lined straight up with Trump's attacks that "she's been there for 3.5 years, why hasn't she done it already?"

 

Just saw a very strange commercial for Onterio, Canada during the Eagles…definitely felt like a subtle jab at all of Trump’s tariff talk

 

Girls is a very good show. I rewatched it a couple years ago. Lena Dunham is unbearable but the show is actually good.

 

Idk it sure seemed like the first black president was pretty big on voters minds and went well with idea of hope and change. These kind of reactions sound right now but that was nowhere near my experience or memory of his campaign. Now when he got in and in his second campaign that’s a different story

 

It seems like Assad has been a very bad ally to the axis recently

 

If this shooter is smart (which I think he is) he would be living on the streets somewhere off the grid for the next 6 months to a year.

 

Also hasn't Syria's strategic value to Russia (a warm water naval port on the Mediterranean) basically become irrelevant since Turkey closed the Bosporus and Dardanelles off to military traffic from the Black Sea at the start of the invasion of Ukraine? Makes sense why they'd ditch them so easily.

 

Will be interesting to see if that holds up in 2028. Dude burned a lot of bridges with young progressives over Israel
