Sorry, I was out of the country last week and got my timing all messed up for submitting. For posterity, I was probably going to go with this:

 

App doing some weird stuff, so I guess votes are due by midnight tonight instead of noon haha.... I looked forward and it should be fixed for the rest of the rounds though

 

I'm glad. I haven't voted yet lol. I'll get them in this afternoon.

 

The YEARS league will start January 7. I will post the link to join in this thread in the new year.

It starts with 1954 and goes 73 rounds through 2026.
The 73rd round is in May 2026
I will NOT extend deadlines unless the app fucks up or something out of our control.
Song submissions will be from the song's INITIAL release. Not from the year of the album it was eventually included in or the year it became popular. AKA Pink Pony Club is NOT a 2024 song.
I'm going to post the link in here and share with a few of my co-workers who are more hardcore about music, see how many people the league is, and then determine if we should set it public for a few more members or not.

I made a comment on the Abby Holiday song saying that I don’t know if I’d call it Phoebe-core but I listened to the whole album and I take it back.

 

Most of the votes are in so I’ll claim this song as mine. “Immortal” specifically feels like a Phoebe cut and I like it a lot! I like that the album takes the sonic palette of something like “Chinese Satellite” and builds on it.

Expected half of this playlist to be For Emma Forever Ago and am pleasantly surprised

My runner up was probably gonna be Wolf by Now, Now

 

I thought there was a moratorium on Justin Vernon in this league.

 

I almost went heavy with "Map Change" by Every Time I Die or a La Dispute song, but I figured that might end up being kind of jarring in context of what I expected everyone else to submit haha
