I know I've said this before, but when I was 19-25 - I used to travel to Canada, PA, Vegas casinos to gamble quite frequently (my sister lived in Vegas). I loved going to the casinos and casually gambling. Especially loved sitting down at a Hold Em table for hours upon hours and just playing cards. When Cleveland announced they'd be opening a casino, I was so excited - I figured I'd go all the time.

The casino opened 12 years ago and I can count on two hands how many times I've been. I think for me, the more it became accessible and easy to go to, the less interesting it became. Going to Canada or Vegas or Pa was a thrill, because it was more of an adventure/vacation.

Outside of fantasy football, I don't gamble on sports at all. Sports give me enough anxiety, I don't need added stress and frustration.

 

I love to play poker but life has gotten in the way of doing it very often, especially since Covid hit. But we played all the time in high school and then once I turned 21, I/we would hit Atlantic City as often as we could. I was a cash game grinder and we’d get there around 3-4 pm and be at the tables until 3-4-5-6 in the morning. I was and am still a pretty good poker player, but definitely a cautious one. Then they legalized table games here and a poker room opened up not far from me and I’d play there too. Most I won in one night on poker was I think $1100-1300. One time in like 2009 or 10, I went to that poker room and won $300, took that down to Atlantic City the next night and won $400, then took that $700 and bought myself my first laptop lol

table games are whatever. Blackjack is okay but fast. Roulette is fun. Craps is by far the most fun table game.

I limit myself to $100 for sports betting for the NFL season now that we have it here, and I told myself I would do the same for FanDuel years ago and I did but it turned out I was good enough at daily fantasy that I haven’t had to deposit anything into that account in like 3 or 4 years lol
