A good thing to remember is that this is the predraft time when everyone is shiny so yes the right 4th or 5th round RB does, the problem is almost everyone looks like the right one and surely a few will bust

 

I'll believe it when I see it, we have no idea who your HC will be

Regardless I really just want Jeanty on a team I don't dislike

 

Very much the exception and not the rule though, usually although RB isn’t a premium position id still say most of the good ones are round 2-3 and at least half of the elite ones in my lifetime were round 1

 

Jeanty is excellent by all means but I can't fathom us trading down far enough for him to be worth it.

Plus every year a couple good ones fall and a couple bad ones go higher than they should

Yeah I said something like this in my long post, that “deep class” doesn’t mean all the guys with potential pan out, usually after it’s all said and done like 30 or 40% of them do and the rest disappoint lol

I think matt just values RB a lot less than Randall does

 

If you can't find a good RB3 in 3 years then youre not going to be a GM for a 4th

 

I think the gap between RB1 and RB5 is much larger for Randall than it is for Matt, I don't know if it's valuing the position more or less

 

Yeah and it’s totally valid. I do value RB more than the typical modern NFL fan. I think we overcompensated TOO much when we acknowledged the pattern of RBs being devalued and I also think the NFL is heading back in a “one really good RB gets 25 touches” direction cause that’s how you beat all the two high safety looks that are proliferating again. It’s cyclical, the pattern of RBs being devalued isn’t indefinite; it’s coming back around

 

I value the position group more probably haha. I'm trying to be the Seahawks not the Saints

it does feel like RB has the most late round/undrafted success stories of all positions, even if they do tend to burn out quickly

If they hire Arthur Smith and also draft Jeanty I might just fully quit watching NFL games
