i love that Hanif uses emo/punk lyrics as titles for his poetry collections. his last collection was inspired by Fall Out Boy. so pumped for this new book.

Spinning the Brave Faces Everyone LP I got in a couple weeks ago for the first time now. Absolutely fantastic sounding pressing. Silver linings I guess.

 

Man, no one wanted this record to be relevant again. Fuck.

Spun Desaparecidos this AM. Will spin this tomorrow.

 

Damn, I’m glad you’ve been staying so positive. I feel like this album never lost its relevance sadly

 

Finally going through Giant Sings the Blues. No idea why I haven’t listened to it before. Will report back.

 

Giant has three top tier SLS songs ("Bad Day," "Vermont," "Remainder"), but I hardly ever go back to the rest.

 

I’m ready to add “Concrete” to this list.

 

Giant has some great songs for sure.

 

It's a solid listen

 

It’s fine but it’s miles and miles worse than everything else. I am pretty sure I have heard Dylan say he doesn’t even consider that album an SLS album.

 

Such that they don't and haven't played anything from it in years and years, I wouldn't be surprised if it's been disowned.

 

Concrete is 1000000% on the list. The last minute? Fucking hell!

 

Was just listening to the TIFO Football Podcast, which is part of the Athletic, and they had an advert for an NFL pod of some sort where Haunted was the music they used.

It’s small, but a cool thing that made me double take.

 

yeah The Athletic NFL Show uses it. The host Robert Mays is a big SLS fan and is even thanked in their album liner notes I think

 

Ah, very cool. I only started loosely following the NFL a few years ago so I had no idea. Hope they got a big payday for that.

Listened to Brave Faces today, and the Spotify copyright says “Epitaph (previously released by Pure Noise Records)”. No Joy still says Pure Noise. Any info I’m missing there?

 

Epitaph acquired PN releases up to a certain year, but not the entire catalog.
