Idk...feels like the next CEO could maybe question the wisdom of trying to squeeze out that extra 10-15 billion in revenue or some shit. Not a huge difference of course, but it would there are less people out there getting their claims denied!

  2. I mean, that's good that you don't care about his takes but he has a massive audience that seems to! He is respected and retweeted by MSNBC types with even bigger audiences! I also still think you are the one reading into the post and our interpretation is face value, especially given his other posts, and that me saying "this dude sucks and its annoying when people say he doesn't" is a lot less effort than this whole post. but whatever

I've almost never been exposed to any of his actual takes anywhere else than in this thread lol. Anytime I see someone else retweet him or like him into my timeline, it's just a video he clipped and a quote from the video he included (often cherrypicked, but usually it makes Republicans look worse so good on him for that).

Man I get what you’re saying, but the world is better without this guy. Yes someone will take his place and the company/system will continue but you should have no sympathy for someone like him. People this rich are practically another species. He’s caused more harm than probably 99% of people in the history of the world.

it’s ok to find joy in these things

The thread is going fast, and Im multi tasking with work, so I missed this., I read it. I understand what you are saying.

Insurance Companies have as much hatred towards them as Big Pharma Med Companies making huge profits (Hello Lilly making Insulin...)

This guy may be a jerk. He may not care about the little people. He may not care about the middle people.

But I just cannot justify killing him - I just dont think that makes a difference. Maybe there will be stories about it in the news, that the shooter had a vendetta against UHC. I still dont agree with shooting him.

But will that make a change to the CEOs of Aetna, BCBS, anyone else? I dont think so.

Id rather make a change a different way, if possible.

That site is the wild west though, there is some good shit in there and then there is also some wildly racist shit that gets talked about and a ton of anti-union. This is probably because I am looking at automotive companies when I look in there but yeah that place is wild.

that's the thing though, we'll never know if it makes a change to the CEOs of Aetna, BCBS or anyone else. there is a non-zero chance that they live in fear more now, hire private security, etc. there's even a non-zero chance that one of them sees the public reaction to this and adjusts their ways a little bit, although I think that is pretty far-fetched and naively hopeful.

for me personally though, it's not even about that - he deserved to be shot in the leg and back and left to painfully gurgle and suffer through his last breaths on the sidewalk like the piece of trash that he was. plain and simple. all of the CEOs of US health insurance companies deserve the same.

the Kaiser Permanente CEO can get a clean head shot, or the soldier's death that Maximus asks for towards the beginning of Gladiator where you plunge the tip of the gladius right into the base of their neck

  17. Well sure but outside of whether you should kill the guy, don't be grateful to gigantic health insurance companies for deigning to let you not die. It's better than if they didn't but the fact that they get to do that is the problem and it's solveable politically

Yeah, I’m pretty sure that the rot is plenty deep enough for this assassination to not make a material difference, but also… it’s normal and traditional and good to celebrate the demise of people at a certain level of evil and powerful.

Maybe some of these people should try living lives that cause more eulogies than celebrations, lol.

Thx for the discussion. Im open to different opinions. I appreciate what you all said.

I have a company function so away for the day, I'm not hiding out, or blocking anyone.

    Have a good day everyone.

Not really. They're so tightly integrated - they run the insurance company, hospitals, and other medical providers - and a closed-loop system that basically forces their insurance customers to use those doctors and hospitals.

This may not sound bad on the surface, but it effectively leads to a system where the doctors know what is covered for various conditions and don't stray from that so are often not giving, or even trying to give, their patients the best possible care because they know it won't be covered.
