Also SC got screwed by the officials in the LSU game and would be in no question with that win.

I think two things can be true:

    1) Alabama, on their day, is undoubtedly a top 12 team in the country.

    2) Any other team (not named Georgia or Ohio State) would not be ranked in the top 12 with three losses and are getting way more leverage based on their name and that sucks ass. It feels like a brand is being rewarded for their history over a team for their performances.

I think ASU/ISU handles it, but to absolutely confirm is… The shocking conclusion of this sentiment is “Go Clemson” which ehhh

I hope the ACC title game goes to 3 OT’s and Clemson wins. I feel like SMU has to lose a nailbiter to get in if they lose to Clemson.

I wonder if the scenario of what happened with Napier has ever happened before: team sucks shit to start the year, everyone basically “knows” you’re gonna get fired, AD bafflingly announces that the coach is staying and won’t be fired, team turns around and saves their season / plays very good football.

Like, just the idea of the school announcing a coach is staying while their seat is on fire and then NOT going back on their word is unique enough, but for the team to actually start winning as well seems like a 1 in a million chance of happening lol

Yeah it’s definitely a wild situation. They had the booster money ready to pay Billy his buy out. I’m not sure at what point, maybe when Strickland made the statement they were going to keep him, but they decided to use the money for recruiting and transfers instead and it’s working.

I definitely think Mertz’s injury forced their hand to commit to Lagway earlier than they seemed to want to and it made all the difference in the world. The players love him and despite all that happened, they still seem to love Napier. I really hope next year is an improvement because they pretty much have the same schedule matchup-wise, but the locations are flipped.

I thought Florida announced Napier is staying to generate a headline so people wouldn't hear about the basketball coach being a big pervert.

I definitely think it was a result of Florida’s president stepping down and their interim president ended up being the one that hired Strickland, who hired Napier.

But I wouldn’t be surprised if the Todd Golden shit contributed. I can’t believe nothing else has come from that yet.

idk if south carolina is one of the 12 best teams but I feel like Sellers has a bit of a Cardale-like run in him and the team is getting hot at the right time so I hope they somehow make it in

The NCAA/ESPN also just love this controversy and discussion. It’s like the March madness bubble discussion on steroids.

    The rivalry is back on

None of Bama, Ole Miss, Miami, or South Carolina have any claim to being the best team in the nation over someone like Oregon even if they were to run the table and win the playoff, so I don’t feel particularly bad for anyone who got snubbed

Bama has the harder schedule than Ole Miss and the H2H win over South Carolina, which seems like enough argument for them to be the undeserving SEC team
