I will agree with Mesc though that it has the same problem as GOW where they talk too much when your in puzzle solving areas.

 

The last of us had that problem but instead of telling you what to do Ellie would just go stand by the way to go

The Horizon games might be next after I’m done with DQ3. There aren’t any more big games coming soon I’m looking forward to and Horizon’s been on my backlog.

 

I’m obsessed with forbidden west so far. Zero Dawn was one of my favorite games I’ve finished so far this year

 

Speaking of I think I’m up to 25 games completed this year which is right on pace for my two per month goal. Have a slew of other games I started but never finished despite putting in some decent time, and then a game like black ops 6 where I’ve sunk many hours but only in multiplayer

 

I should say finished not completed but whatever

 

Jin was fine, Aloy is just annoying. Some of that has to do with bad game design like having her talk every single time she picks something up or other weird things like puzzle hints and other times it's just because she's uninteresting and rude. I understand that she was a shunned child and she holds people at a distance, that's well and good, but I just don't find her personality outside of that to be very appealing or interesting. I also understand that it's part of her character arc, but I just don't like the way they did it personally.

 

I recall getting annoyed hearing Cal in those situations in JFO

 

Aloy is good Jin is bad and a chump loser and I took his lunch money

Some games I have played recently:

Red Earth/Hyper Street Fighter 2/Darkstalkers/Super Puzzle Fighter 2/Pocket Fighter/Night Warriors/Darkstalkers 3/Cyberbots: These were all part of the Capcom Fighting Collection. I am much more interested in the other two collections to be able to experience Marvel vs. Capcom 2 and Power Stone 2, but I have a strong desire to start from the beginning. They are all perfectly fine games, but I just never was good at fighting games.

Castlevania II: Simon's Quest: Like any other game of that era, there is just so many cheap deaths that artificially extend what would be a very short game. The series got so much better when Symphony of the Night changed the formula.

Super Mario Party Jamboree: I checked out of video gaming during the GameCube and Wii years, so I never saw the car or all the other things people said ruined the series. They restored the formula recently enough, though, and the mini-games are overall very strong. There are few things more frustrating than when you are getting close to a star and it is moved or taken from you.

Halo: Reach: I haven't really paid attention to the overarching plot of the series, but the gameplay keeps getting better. It actually does reach some emotional moments, and the final battle with the shattering glass was a much more interesting way to convey damage and weakness than the usual trope of the character walking really slow.

Nintendo World Championships: NES Editions: The NES Remix games on Wii U were more fun, but the online contests here are really fun. As a general rule, playing Nintendo games online are more enjoyable because there are more kids who have poor motor skills that I can beat in stuff. On Playstation or PC I am defeated too easily.

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim: Not that it could ever live up to the decade-plus of ports and conversations, but in the larger scheme of things it just feels like another Bethesda entry in their Elder Scrolls/Fallout series. The dragon fights are surprisingly boring and uninspired, and every dungeon feels like it is copied and pasted. Why even have the draugrs if they pose no threat?

 

About to get to the first many decision in Veilguard but I just had a side quest with one of the companions that will be involved and it made me like them more and idk what I’m gonna do lol

 

Just played through Mouthwashing. Dont know if its come up in the thread before, has anyone else played it? Very cool horror adjacent game.
