Gambling is so exploitative, it sucks. Video games and mobile apps implementing their own forms of gambling with loot boxes and shit has been one of the worst things to happen.

I’m so glad I’ve not fallen victim to that stuff. Florida got a sportsbook this year and I dabbled in it but I’ve not invested any additional money in it other than my initial deposit.

There’s a late night beef/sub shop in my town which used to be open until 3 am a decade ago. Everyone would stupidly show up there drunk during the evening. Great (or bad) times.

One time in a drunken haze I was ordering and the 2 creepy register dudes were working the late shift. One of them I used to call “Cinco de Mayo” (went to jail for child porn) was there, but so was the dude I called “Boys are Back in town.”

And it was Boys are back in town who told me if I bought a brownie I’d get one. So I thought “fuck yeah I’m getting a free brownie with this purchase!” But then shortly after I realized he was saying … “if I bought a brownie then I would have a brownie” and have never been more mad until I was reminded reading your post of this

 

a clothing company I like a bunch launched their Black Friday sale at like 1 am and I was hoping to get me a Texans tee.

the sale was like 15-20% off.

these companies aren’t even trying anymore.

nope. a few things i've been watching have been on sale for like 5% off as their normal price for months now, and companies, especially amazon, are advertising those prices as their BF sale prices. Sucks. my parents used to line up at walmart at 2am for a chance to get a PS4 and 50% off a tv. Corporations have ruined what is basically their own holiday!
