Didn’t expect this movie to make me cry, but several moments got me haha. Amazing performances all around. The dance scene in particular was a surprise, crazy how much emotion Cynthia could convey without saying a single word.

 

My girlfriend recreated this in the middle of the movie out of nowhere and I couldn’t not laugh lol

 

Seeing all these reviews makes me both excited and a little upset that I won’t be able to see it for another few weeks. The musical is one of my favorites and I’m glad to see they have stuck close to it and done it justice.

Saw this last night. I can see what some people have been saying about the staging and pacing, but damn if me and my girlfriend didn't get absolutely wrecked at Defying Gravity. Great film.

 

It was just very very good

 

The biggest surprise for me was how consistently hilarious Ariana Grande was. Would love to see more of this kinda thing from her.

 

Suprised by how much I loved this. Last 30 minutes or so are phenomenal

 

Even certified musical haters are liking it. World is healing.

 

she's a theater kid who did Nickelodeon of course she has comedic timing

 

Part 2 will be the real test but the fact this is doing well at the box office is huge for getting more musicals. Maybe even some musicals that aren't scared to be musical in the trailers!
