nice tribute to bill walton during fire on the mountain last night during the part of the show where they usually do a montage of past members

  2. For several months my two year old daughter has wanted to hear Sugaree (“shake it one”) every bath time because it came on my phone once during bath time and she loved it. So now it’s just a bath song for her I guess? Anyway parenting legacy cemented already

I don't mean to speculate, but the fact that he was surrounded by his family indicates it wasn't entirely unexpected. I'm glad he was able to spend his final hours with family, peacefully at home

  9. He pulled out of a show kind of last minute a few months back and I believe the reason given was he was sick. My memory may not be 100% there but I think you’re correct

Can someone explain to a newbie why Cornell 77 is held in such high regard? Looking to get started somewhere.

It was one of the most widely available tapes at the best sound quality. The bands playing is excellent and the setlist is a good showcase of the types of things they do well

  15. Man...RIP to Phil. Phil was what really put me over the top into obsession with this band. To my ear, he's essentially responsible for all the weirdest musical moments in Dead history. He really elevated them artistically imo. Fucking sobbed hearing Phish play Box of Rain

  17. Phil is probably also responsible in significant part for my interest in experimental/avante music

Just planning to be the four of them? No one on lead?

  24. No way, would've been something similar to Fare Thee Well probly and probly with Mayer and Chimenti.

  25. that would've been fun and cool but also would've been the most blatant Grateful Dead moneygrab yet LOL with the exception perhaps of the Sphere run. "Fare thee Well"...for 10 years!
