Love how everything in the highest echelons of power is based on easily circumventable norms

 

In theory, it’s the international order post-WWII which is based on democracy, free trade, and (relatively) defined country borders, and the US exercises soft power to keep everything humming.

In reality, the US gets to break its own rules whenever it wants, run proxy wars, meddle in foreign elections, spy on its own citizens, levy devastating sanctions, and use its currency as a weapon. All overlaid with a sheen of moral superiority.
