far cry 4 has got to be my favorite open world in gaming

 

Alan Wake 2 has been on my list since I got a PS5 last year. Played through the original remaster to prepare then decided to burn through Control too.

Really mostly liked Control but goddamn the Alan Wake expansion was so frustratingly difficult that it makes me question if I even want to play AW2 lol

 

I REALLY liked Deaths Gambit. Its soulslike-esque though, if that means anything to you

speaking of games like that, excited for Nine Sols tomorrow on console. not sure if I’ll do Switch or PS5

 

I played AW 1 and 2 but not Control. I didn’t find it too hard.

 

IMO, the ideal way to play AW2 is on easy mode.

 

I didn't get very far in AW1 before getting distracted by something else, but I don't remember it being difficult, just clunky

 

AW1 is definitely clunky. AW2 is incredible and I’d agree that easy mode is the way to go since the combat is the least interesting part.

 

finished control just now. still not entirely sure what happened lol but I know it was a fun little ride and I’m excited to play Alan wake and Alan wake 2 now. The game has a great atmosphere and level design, combat has some very cool concepts that fail to really gel together. Some combat encounters were insane with how many enemies they throw at you at once and it gets overwhelming quick and I feel like it just lacks fluidity at times. Other than that this was a really nice short game. Need to knock out the dlc at some point too

 

The Control DLC, especially AWE is where my opinion of the game started to sour so I hope you have a better experience.

yeah death's gambit got annoying real fast. i don't wanna write it off completely just yet because i haven't gotten very far to give it a fair shake, but i definitely don't have the patience for it, at least not right now

 

I just didn't find it particularly interesting mechanically, neither the traversal nor the combat.

also I just really wouldn't put too much weight on opinions from people who play like 10 minutes of every game and then pretend they can speak to their qualities.

 

Dragon Age on sale for $42, that's gonna be a buy

 

I started over with a different class and dumped everything into vitality and now I'm having a better time at it. Got to where I was before without dying. Parry feels awkward

 

Coming to the end of Far Cry 5. Not all that invested in the plot but the gameplay's been really fun. Probably dive into Metaphor once I'm done.

 

You can trust me though.

 

I still think 4 is the best in the series by a long shot but 5 is still an extremely fun game
