It’s a perfect day for letting go... Supporter

This is so west coast it’s crazy. Curious to see how it will be received.

Got some comps so I went to see Polo G last night. I was twice the age of everyone there except for the old guy next to me that brought his teenager and was visibly livid about all the weed smoke.

Pretty good performance but I hate the trend of just playing the track with full vocals ans rapping over it. If you can't perform live, you probably shouldn't, but it seemed like he actually could and it would have just been better/"more impressive" to rap over the instrumentals.

It’s been cool to see Cole putting his older releases on streaming

those were the ones that had me as a fan

FNL is presumably next. I'm a bigger Cole fan than most on this site but I really think you guys should check out his mixtapes if you haven't even if you're not fans of his later work, he was fucking HUNGRY on those

I know the beef dead and all but trying to make Steve Lacy your opps is hilarious lmao

  14. It would be funny if Drake kept downgrading his beefs and still getting owned, would love to see Steve Lacey make a bedroom-pop track that just buries him lmao

  15. Also Drake (and Kanye) having more streamer friends than musician friends kind of signifies the quality of their output and how much respect I have for them at this point lol

I know that he’ll be just fine but all things considered: are any of y’all in here still checking for new Drake music?

  19. Not really for pleasure lol I tuned into the beef and will generally check out a major release from someone like him out of morbid curiosity if there's any discourse about it. I'm not like staying up to listen to the new Drake album though

Opp is really not an obscure term you old heads lol It’s been like every second word on every drill song for the last few years

Yeah I still enjoy his music. For all the Dogs had a few great tracks on it (“8am in Charlotte”, “Polar Opposites”, “First Person Shooter”)

Not a fan of drill, so that part has fully passed me by. And the only example of “opp” in hip hop I can think of is that naughty by nature song but that’s O.P.P., I assume it’s the same thing? Probably a term I’ve always heard but never really thought about looking up what it means

Never voluntarily listened to a Drake song. Even when he was at his peak and everyone loved him, there was always something about him that didn’t sit right with me. His voice was annoying as hell and something about him seemed so weird to me.

I have never understood how someone so average as him got so big. One of musics greatest mysteries haha
