I finished SH2 this last week. Still in awe that they pulled that off. I was extremely skeptical but they absolutely knocked it out of the park.

I'll wait for a sale for SH2 but can't wait to play it. Currently I just got back into LaD7 and as much as I miss Kiryu headlining, Ichiban is a cool dude haha.

The new star wars is $40....worth it? I think I read there was some new update too that fixes a bunch of stuff.

I tried it after the patch. I lasted an hour. Found it really really awful.

that said the patch is a big improvement.

I’ve not played again since the update because I’m still on Veilguard but if you’ve seen previews and think it’s something you’d like, I think it’s worth it. My biggest issue was some of the enemy AI and the forced stealth and it sounds they changed both of those.

Like I one time I randomly had bandits show up at an Empire outpost that was in the corner of the map, and I did the whole thing without alerting anyone lol. So the stupid stuff like that seems to have been addressed.

  11. Sundered combat can get pretty frustrating and definitely requires a good amount of farming in order to feel like your character's skill tree is actually making any sort of progress. Really neat game design tho. There's only like four main biomes but within them there is a good variation of like mini bosses, puzzle challenges, and endless horde rooms. Traversal is pretty fun once you've unlocked all the necessary abilities

Sounds fun. I was semi interested from the very first reveal, I'm a sucker for star wars stuff and I don't mind the Ubisoft style of games with a million type of stuff to do/find on the map. The price isn't bad either now. Thanks for that!

truth be told the main reason I had a hard time getting into the game was the abysmal and uneven performance on PC. The game itself is mostly fine, I still really like the lead character, the mechanics are... fine enough... but I just wasn't that much into what I was doing.

also it was hella blurry and nothing I did seemed to fix it.

Taking a page out of @mescalineeyes book and am playing a mid game

AC Mirage is so mid but it’s a fun throwback to old style AC

I think I might play Syndicate again soon. Haven’t played it since it dropped and I remember loving it.

Ahh I thought there were more bosses after this one! I guess I beat Sundered. I'll have to look up the "good" and "bad" endings tho bc I fucked up and did a "neutral" run

edit: so i watched the endings and...

the "bad" ending had some really cool animation, but oh no, you've unleashed evil upon the world!

the "good" ending had no additional cutscene. you've saved humanity but now you're stuck here. also very bleak

i kinda like the "neutral" ending, you've escaped but you still have the trapezowhatever-it's-called. it leaves things open-ended.

but yeah, this game is dark! the enemy and boss designs are horrific. i kinda didn't expect this from the people who made Spiritfarer. (welllll, that game had some sad storylines too but all the characters were cute animals sooo)

this one's a bit less story driven than some other metroidvanias but that's okay! the procedurally generated map keeps things interesting, it's like a MV with rogue elements (while Dead Cells is the other way around). while the game can get frustrating at times, the combat and traversal are pretty satisfying, and after a bit of farming, upgrading the skill tree feels rewarding.
