That villains show is only temporary too. They could easily make that a new Muppets show (or move 3d) to that theater and make that entire section of the park a new Muppets land. Seems too easy so i’m sure they’ll fuck it up haha.

Yeah, a muppets corner there would be cool. Still wonder if they're just going to keep Launch Bay there forever or what. I enjoy going in there but it is a big space that is pretty wasted

Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t there talks of a Muppet Land happening in MGM when it first opened? And it just never materialized because of Jim Henson’s death?

It would be great to revisit that idea.

I mean they technically have their own land now, it’s just very bare bones and now unfortunately going away. Revitalizing that corner where RNR and LMRA are would be a slam dunk.

Launch bay is such a waste of space. My biggest current complaint about Hollywood is how spread out all the Star Wars stuff is. I’m massively in favor of them getting rid of launch bay and dare I say… a Star Tours re-theme.

just add muppets to every ride, Tiana and Kermit's swamp adventure

Yeah it kind of irks me that Star Tours is separated from the rest of the Star Wars stuff. I understand it would be a difficult task to merge ST to Galaxy’s Edge, but it would just make more sense…

I thought they would convert muppets courtyard to Star Wars expansion eventually that way it would all be connected together. Guess that's not happening now and it will be weird to have Monsters Inc now between 2 Star Wars areas

    BAD

they claim they're gonna preserve the film and somehow make it and parts of the attraction accessible to broader audiences (Disney+?), but i honestly don't trust them enough to do it in a way that doesn't feel shitty.

cool that Rock 'n' Roller Coaster is getting rethemed though

Concept art for Monster Inc land looks like they are expanding it quite a bit and adding a new building two

Wtf are they going to do with Launch Bay now?

I think I am pretty ok with this. I am more about Disney properly utilizing IP's than I am about treating old attractions like UNESCO World Heritage sites. As long as The Muppets are still getting love in the park I am fine with it.

I am now wondering if they're saving Animation Courtyard for when Universal loses their Simpsons theme park rights (which should be by 2028 when the current contract runs out) or possibly saving it for the chance that one day Universal lets them have the east coast Marvel theme park rights.

Yeah this actually kind of best case for it. As much as it sucks that it’s going away, it’s great the Disney will still rep Muppets in at least one park.

The Simpsons thing has me curious too. There’s so much potential

Based on the concept art it is looking like something is going in the theatre where Muppetvision is. I see some people speculation that they're moving the Laughfloor there.

Comparing this to what I am seeing in Google Earth, it looks like they're going to demolish a good chunk of the cast member parking behind Galaxy's Edge for the coaster ride building.

it doesn't look like it goes that far back from what i can tell, but that parking will definitely be impacted. upon first glance, i figured it might get pretty close to Starcruiser, lmao.

I could be wrong, but the only thing that looks different is the ride building itself, which currently has a gate there. That building in front of it in the center is the currently closed Muppets store. They better not mess with Baseline tap house right across the street.

Baseline is across the street from where the land entrance gate is in this art. I think it'll be fine.
