Shea come work for me, I’m forcing my guys to use PTO before it expires at the end of the year

we can roll ours over or pay it out at like $15/hr depending on position. normally i keep a week to pay out to use as a "christmas bonus" but this year i was very bad at managing it, OR SO I THOUGHT.

this is my 10th year with the company which means i get a 5th week of PTO from now on. i was told in june that i don't actually get it until completing the 10th year so i had to wipe a planned staycation off the calendar.

payroll sent out the email last week asking what we wanted to do with our remaining PTO and i had 64 fucking hours available. immediately put in a request for the first week of december which gives me 12 days in a row off including thanksgiving and for the second time ever black friday and 3 to roll over to next year.

So anyway i guess i'm going to the fucking georgia game next week.

We have to use vacation before the end of the calendar year otherwise it expires and there’s no roll over period. At first I hated that but now I kind of like it because it forces me to actually use it vs just constantly saving it in hopes of taking like two straight months off.

Today I confirmed I still have 66 hours to use before the end of the year and were shut down the last week of the year so basically I’m on vacation every Monday and Friday for the rest of the year plus some Thursdays because of all the time I have left. Great first world problem to solve today lol
