it feels like a better version of the Xbox elite controller. I hated the elite and it fell apart on me quicker than any controller I’ve owned. This one is built extremely well and just feels great

 

Doing a bingo challenge for TrueAchievements and it brought me to The Last Case of Benedict Fox. Pretty cool game so far.

It also brought me to Forza Horizon 5. My god is it incredible looking.

 

Now that I’ve sat on it I do want to say, about The Last Of Us Part 1, it actually has much better gameplay than I usually see people give it credit for. I think it does an absolute brilliant job of swinging between action, stealth, and survival genres on a moments notice. The pacing of the resources you find and upgrade points through the levels makes your choices in what weapons you invest in feel far more impactful than most games that’ll let you max out anything you want to. Same with the supplements. It also never felt too hard or frustrating until the final level which was a complete pain in the ass but I kinda get it lore wise. The gunplay felt very weighty, your movement set was just limiting enough to make you have to really think about your approach especially when it came to bloaters. The crafting system again felt really well balanced in how it dishes out resources so you’re rarely ever filled to the brim with every tool at your disposal, or if you are it’s because you’ve got a doozy of an encounter right ahead. I don’t know what the original looked or felt like in regards to all of this but the remake was one of the more engaging third person action games I’ve played. You feel the uncharted influence but it’s much more grounded

 

also not sure if this got posted yet but perhaps Sony isn’t purposefully buying up studios just to kill them lol

I feel like people only started hating on TLOU gameplay after part 2 came out and was THAT much better. I haven’t played the remake so I’m not sure what improvements were made but even the original I thought had fantastic stealth/action gameplay.

Yeah I remember people were calling the first one noticeably dated after 2 dropped, but I know the remake was a significant ground up overhaul so I’m sure it definitely improved a good amount

 

I have been banging the fucking drum on this and people tell me now it's just pure cinema. It's actually infuriating. I am obviously not going to post The Video for spoiler reasons (Morgan knows what I am talking about) but I am sick and tired of pretending TLOU, especially part 2, isn't fucking sublime in the gameplay department.

 

Yeah it was what stuck out to me the most, I knew what I was in for with the story (peak) but the gameplay really, really solidified that masterpiece status

I’ve seen two full videos of the Avowed preview and yeah I mean obviously I was extremely excited for it before but this is looking like something else entirely now that I’ve seen more. I don’t want to be too hyperbolic but this seems like a completely different level even for Obsidian

 

It is unfortunate Uncharted never got to where TLOU is. Fun games but nowhere near the same level.

 

I think uncharted 4 is pretty easily a 9.5/10 game in its own right

 

I mean due to the levity it will never have the emotional or cultural impact of a TLOU, and god knows that movie didn't help lol, but Uncharted, especially 2 and 4 (I am including the DLC here), are extremely fun in their own right.

But yeah the mechanics and gameplay are so good. I wanna play again soon on a harder difficulty. I decreased a bit for redacted but it was so good. The enemy AI really stands out too.

the biggest bummer was that they didn’t apply it to the Part 1 remake.
