RE: the player conversation. I've had a Denon DP-300F for around 6 years and I'm still happy with it. I upgraded the cartridge to an Ortofon 2M Red a couple of years ago and that was a worthwhile investment, too.

The only thing I dislike about it is the dust cover, which scratches incredibly easily and looks like junk after a while. You can buy a replacement, but it seemed too pricey for something that is just gonna get scratched by light dust again.

 

i always hated that mine's dust cover is tinted

 

I have a Project X2 in a beautiful white color. Updated last year from my decade old Debut Carbon.

So true. Always get tempted by the word ‘sale’ on the overpriced big companies over here - HMV, Rough Trade etc but when you have a look they’re still the same if not more than everyone else’s prices. I’m sure HMV do a usual special deal 3 for £66 ($85) - gee thanks!
