Congrats on your upgrade! I just upgraded my husband's phone from the 11 Pro Max to my previous 15 Pro Max. Very significant upgrade for him and I'm still showing him new features in small bits. Can't show him everything at once. He's loving it so far though.

 

I used Arc for awhile and loved it - but one thing I love about safari is how messages will prepopulate any 2 factor codes for you. Arc didn't do that when I was using (not sure if they do now or not?) but I went back to safari and have been happy.

 

I'll probably continue using Safari on iOS for that reason, but for now, I think I'm going to stick with Arc on MacOS; the UI is just too good. Hopefully my Pi-Hole doesn't make the lack of UBlock too noticeable.

 

On another note, my Mac Mini is awesome. I can't believe how little space it occupies, and for whatever reason, the output to my 32" Samsung G7 looks much better than my MBP connected to the same monitor using the same cable, and with BetterDisplay activated it's excellent...which thankfully means I can hold off on upgrading my monitor.

 

I'm going to get my Mac mini this week. stoked. trading in my M1 MBP for it because I run my laptop in clamshell mode 95% of the time anyways. now I have an iPad Pro 13" to take place of my laptop for when I'm out and about which isn't that often

 

Time for my regular debate between traveling with my iPad Pro and Magic Keyboard or MacBook Air.

I just traveled to Mexico for work and took my iPad Pro since I am trading in my MBP this week for the mini. Was worried, but it ended up being more than enough. The one workaround thing that I still have to do when working from the iPad Pro is on google sheets. The google sheets iPad app blows so when I'm on my iPad I have to use it in safari. I guess not a 'workaround' but annoying none the less that the sheets app doesn't function anywhere close to the web version in my opinion.

 

Just got my Grovemade mat and really like it. Here's my setup, which is still a work in progress.

 

Killer keyboard. The whole setup is so clean.

WOW putting my iPad on my iCloud photo sync thing is one of the worst mistakes I've ever made. Having all my iPhone bullshit screenshots etc. show up on my iPad and having all my stuff I only want on my iPad on my phone too is so confusing and annoying. There does not seem to way to undo this either, too bad.

 

What AirPods is everyone using nowadays? I bought mine with the 2020 stimmy and am definitely due for an upgrade.

My AirPod pro 2s were my first AirPods and they’ve completely replaced my over-ears.

this probably isn’t relevant to anybody but I have a physical therapy device that causes a weird oscillating sound whenever I wear noise cancelling headphones while using the device and the AirPods are the first set to *not* have that happen. Honestly a game changer.

 

What’s the podcast player market like these days? The Overcast price increase has me wanting to look around again; the latest rewrite and update has really been full of bugs (AirPlay no longer works, I can’t hit back on podcasts, and the layout changes don’t work for me). The idea of paying more for something that’s been bugging me doesn’t seem great. Won’t renew until September, so have time to see if it gets better. But wanted to look at other options. Default stock app is probably where I’ll start my research but wanted to see what people were using.

 

I use Apple Podcasts and it’s good enough for me. 1.25x speed, a queue I can load up, and that’s about all I need haha

 

Overcast has been bumming me out too. Been using it so long i don’t want to give it up. Far too often i click a timestamp and it takes me to a completely different podcast

Yeah, I haven't used anything but Overcast for as long as I can remember but the rewrite has been mostly a huge bummer.

 

Feeling similarly about Overcast. I can get used to the UI changes (especially since the swipe for show notes is back), but the Airplay 2 issues are so frustrating, and Marco's "just use Airplay 1 instead" option is an even worse experience. But it's literally the only podcast app I've ever used so there's a lot of inertia there too.

 

the only bug I've had with Overcast since the updates is that twice now, an episode has randomly stopped and then isn't available in my feed for a little bit of time. very weird.
