Respectfully, let's not round up! We're still the better part of two years off from that album turning 10. Don't make me feel older than I am!

I had to check my calendar to make sure that album isn’t turning 10 next year. It feels like it just came out.

honestly as much as I could not possibly disagree more, it's kinda interesting to run into people who prefer the more pop rocky side of Jimmy Eat World, because I'm sure there is a sizeable swath of fans who regularly attend their shows who don't really care about the slower songs and just want to rock, and they have a place in the fandom too

JEW strikes such an amazing balance in their songwriting, it's hard for me to think of many bands who are able to do that on the level that they do.

(however give me all the 23s you got, I need more long form posty Jim)

I'm late but I'm on the pro-"Jen" team. I think the statute of limitations should be over by now so why not just give us a proper HQ version on a re-release or something.

That's why I think "No Sensitivity" is their most representative song. It rocks, it's hooky but also slow and melodic in parts.

i agree it sounds a bit out of place with that album, but its a fun song. I would love to hear a HQ version of it. Ive been struggling through a pretty crappy sounding rip of it for years

Either you're here or you're not"

so much wisdom in these simple lyrics, and it helps that the melody is just sweepingly beautiful. truly special song

    Fight the long defeat.

It's certainly hitting the spot on this crisp North Carolina morning. Love these guys.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

half heart is honestly one of their best, that chiming bit when the bridge goes into the last chorus... good god

Does anyone know why Love Never made it onto Surviving but Half Heart didn't? They released a 7" with both of them on it a year before Surviving came out, & I've always thought Half Heart was a significantly better song any way I look at it

Good question. We also know they held back a fully mixed, finalized song that Ken Andrews used to demonstrate his work with them on Surviving...that one still makes me laugh.
