Agreed. I’ve said it here a bunch before but all the Dems that come from the 80s and 90s just have a completely different political reality that shaped their formative years in politics that the younger folks absolutely do not have haha

I was born in 85 and definitely in the 90s was running wild all over the neighborhood/surrounding areas with no contact with my parents or families for hours upon hours. At 11/12-years-old my friends and I would routinely ride our bikes miles away to restaurants and stores. No worries in the world.

I think too, parents just weren’t hit over the head with dreadful news hour after hour after hour like we are now with social media and 24/7 news cycles. Back then, you rarely heard of fucked up shit and if you did it was a “ah, that would never happen here” response. Doom and gloom is now engrained in all of us.

My kids are 7 and 10. They both have smart watches with GPS enabled. My wife will monitor them like crazy, even if they’re just three houses down.

 

My understanding is that when Al Franken resigned, the ethics report into him was cut short and nothing was released

a) he resigned to disappeared from the public eye, rather than to get a high ranking cabinet post

b) I don't think the report was anywhere near complete. So there probably wasn't much to release. Whereas the Gaetz report is ready
