Yeah totally, it's really shitty and gross. People say capitalism is all about competition but we all know that's bullshit. They just buy the competition, take the best parts and leave the rest to rot.

 

Microsoft still has some pretty solid and healthy studios in their ranks, as does Sony, we only hear about the abject failures and we hear about them a lot because that’s what gets views and clicks

studio selling X amount of copies of a new game isn’t getting attention. But if that studio sells 10 copies and shuts down then people care. Shits dumb

 

like didn’t Josh Sawyer only get to make Pentiment because it aligned with Xbox’s gamepass strategy and if he hadn’t been able to he would’ve left the industry from burnout? And it was a pretty big success for the type of game it is?

 

My concern with From is that it will be limited to one console (which I do have atm) but exclusivity fucking sucks. Plus, Sony is holding one of the most beloved IP’s hostage and what’s to say they won’t do it with all the other titles. I truly hope it doesn’t happen.


Plus, lord knows when future titles or remasters (you know it’s gonna happen) would go to PC.

 

I simply just hope it doesn’t affect From negatively. They’re on a historic run at this point.

I have gone through each of these games 3-4 times and they still break my heart every time haha

Iirc they said the next big update should be early next year, after which I assume the full release will be soon to follow

 

rolled credits on the last of us part 1. typing this through very teary eyes. what an experience. I 100% understand why this game has the reputation it has. I can see how this was a monumental feat in video game storytelling in 2013 and over ten years later it’s one of the best video game stories I’ve experienced. I’m sure the remake did wonders for this in terms of gameplay but I think top to bottom this is an undeniable masterpiece. easiest 10/10 I’ve given this year

It’ll probably be a hot minute before I get to part 2, because there’s some other sequels I also need to play and I don’t own any of them so I’m gonna need $$$ to buy them (forbidden west and phantom liberty mostly) but hopefully next year I get around to it. Unless it gets added to ps plus like part 1 did when season 2 comes out
