I love Spoon like no other but will anyone really be into this?

I couldn't get into the first two tracks.

Feel like a dub record would be right up many a Spoon fans alley? They’ve always had a dubby influence

  4. yeah i haven’t listened yet but if this is leaning into any of the sounds they were making on hot thoughts, i’m all about it

If the rest is anything like the first two songs, it’s not going to be a dub record.

  6. I have this weird thing with Spoon where every other album they make I absolutely fucking love but then the others don’t do a ton for me. So my four favorites would be They Want My Soul, Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga, Kill the Moonlight, and then this one. I’m assuming I’m completely alone in this lol

I do like Gimme Fiction a good amount though. But Transference and Hot Thoughts have never clicked with me

They just dropped a cover of Bowie’s “I Can’t Give Everything Away”. It’s lovely. They remain an unparalleled cover band.

On the last ep of “I Turn My Podcast On” Britt said he just learned how to play “Feels Like Summer” by Childish Gambino. I can’t imagine something that combines two of my favorite musical things more and want to hear it so bad.

He also said Satellite was written & recorded during the They Want My Soul era & that it’s a sister song to Inside Out. Neato

Memory Dust EP came out last week and has 3 more solid tracks.

Seeing these guys in 20 minutes or so, first ever show alone so this already feels strange haha

Enjoy! I think I enjoy shows more alone than with people these days. If you’re ever bored, strike up convo with someone nearby since you have something in common!

What a damn nice set, loved seeing Fitted Shirt and Jonathan Fisk on there tonight. They really do sound better live though, don’t they?

So glad Held is staying as the set opener. It’s perfect. Makes me wonder if they sought it out specifically for that purpose

Every year that goes by for me, Transference moves up the Spoon rankings. Initially I was pretty indifferent to it, but now I love it.

Kill the Moonlight, GaX5, and Transference are my three favorites. But each record has some gems I would consider among their best work.

Girls Can Tell, Gimme Fiction and They Want My Soul if I had to nail down three.

it's Kill The Moonlight, Gimme Fiction, & Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga for me, but I like all of their albums really, and I think I'm gonna have to go back and revisit Transference soon
