Man, anytime I listen to her I'm always amazed at well she pulls off so many different styles. No song is totally groundbreaking on its own, but to shift between so many different genres and pull them all off surprisingly well makes for a very well-rounded album. Nothing, The Center's Falling Out, and Surviving on Defiance are my initial favorites.

blown away by the choruses on this record. this is also my first full project from her that i've heard (besides the EAT EP) so i feel like i've made a mistake by not going back into her discog to prepare for this.

I Disagree absolutely should be your next album

I Disagree feels way less fleshed out than this does though, so be ready for that. That album treated heaviness like a fun little novelty to pick up and play with occasionally, where this one feels like they took it way more seriously.

Stoked to dive into this based on all of the feedback. I Disagree is one of my favorite albums of all time, so the expectations are pretty high right now

I'm glad I was not clued in to the singles here. New Way Out sounds in such a similar vein to the House of Protection EP and I loved that release.

I Disagree was one of my favorite albums of 2020, but I didn’t get into anything else after that tATu cover. Happy to get back on the train with this gnarly ass release.

I was initially worried by the singles (except for Crystallized) that this was steering too hard towards Octane-core. After a handful of full listens, I couldn’t have been more wrong. The album is varied, dynamic, and memorable. It feels like a heavier combination of everything she’s done so far.

I think it’s really important (and part of Poppy’s appeal) that songs like The Center’s Falling Out and Halo share space on the same album. I’m leaning towards saying this is her best album. It sounds like a more mature, self-assured I Disagree.

  12. I Disagree is still my runaway favorite of hers, but this album is definitely what I needed after the last one just never connected with me. It's a bit more derivative of the scene then I feel she usually is, but it's good at what it does.

Genuinely don’t remember how much of a chance at all I previously gave it, lol. So, maybe I will, now that this has given me more Poppy momentum.

Going to listen to this in a bit, I'm also in the camp who really enjoyed I Disagree but hasn't really connected to anything since, so I'm pretty optimistic I'll enjoy this

The more 2000s alt rock vibe on Negative Spaces wasn't my favorite, but it's basically in between two of my favorites in The Center Is Falling Out and Surviving On Defiance and sounds vastly different from those, so it doesn't really bother me in the flow of the album.

Zig was a bit of a letdown after I Disagree, Flux, and all the other stuff that came out around those two, but wasn't bad by any means. This is on a different level though and seems to take the best parts of all of them and combine it pretty cohesively.

Also quite impressed with how prolific she's been.
