By the time I got in anywhere close to the stage is like $800 or more for the San Francisco show.

Also, legislation is not required for bands and their management to opt out of dynamic pricing. All that would take is more musicians standing their ground.

They need to put more safeguards around resale and ticket transfer. It’s impossible to prevent it completely, but they make it way too easy for people (and I mean regular people, not “professional” scalpers) to buy tickets and flip them. You shouldn’t be able to buy tickets and list them for resale immediately after. They shouldn’t allow free transfer of tickets between users without any guardrails. There has to be something that can be done around that issue vs focusing on price ceilings.

I agree but that probably violates certain consumer rights. Also many people (on this thread too) LIKE and WANT the ability to resell so that tends to be why you don't see this limitations. Acts can put in safeguards but many actively choose not to as they get a cut of resale revenue.

Agree here too. You see high prices, the act you're going to see is demanding a high fee. I will note that stadiums/arenas are VERY expensive to operate for events. I think I read somewhere that MSG is like hundreds of thousands of dollars just to rent out for the night.

At this point im just gonna try and wait out the resale peeps months from now after the initial hype has died down and see if they drop their prices out of fear of not selling their tix

Routing for this tour has a LOT of open dates, makes me wonder if further shows added or second nights.

It’s during baseball season so adding more dates during the week would be difficult.

Not for Chicago, since that’s a football stadium.

  13. They should just take up residency at guaranteed rate for a few months and save folks the misery of another white sox season. Chemo rock opera is way way way less depressing

I was referring more to entirely new dates being added. More second nights during the weekend are definitely possible as I think all the dates are Friday or Saturday.

I passed on Toronto tickets this morning. Couldn’t find anything half decent for less than $200, and I’m not paying that. I’ll grab something closer to the date

Yeah I passed on Chicago tix this morning. I was 32,000 in line, and by the time I got in everything was $450-$700 except for the highest nosebleeds (which were still like $250).

I love MCR, but not $450 impulse purchase worth of love.

I tend to impulse buy tickets but even this show was way too much, I think I got Metallica pit tickets for like $400- $500, but the best tickets being $800 and above is mindblowing, also the metallica tickets were for two days.

I had this same thought but the soldier aspect makes me think going to Oasis the night prior will turn me off from two nights in a row. Have you been to soldier field before? It’s pretty miserable in a lot of ways but getting there and out of there is dreadful.

  20. I have not but I’d imagine it’s a pain yep haha. Don’t wanna pay for a hotel so I’d probably stay with my friend in Boystown so I’ll be hoofing it to one of the red line stops on state street in the loop after

Joined right at on-sale yesterday and the cheapest tickets I could find by the time I got past the queue were double what I paid for Taylor Swift tickets last year. Definitely going to wait to see if prices come down as we get closer.

Just responded to a comment on Reddit where someone brought up The Eras Tour as an example to justify MCR's exorbitant pricing. I reminded them that Eras Tour's most expensive standard ticket was $450 and did not use any dynamic or platinum pricing at all (I do believe there were some premium VIP packages though), so MCR's tickets are actually significantly more expensive and some are 2x the price of Eras tickets considering LA floor tickets are going for as much as $855

I love the band but at the end of the day it is their fault that dynamic pricing is turned on and there is still a lot of tickets available with high ass prices. I wonder if and when does the cost of those tickets go down if they don't sell.
