Anytime I see someone on here say they don’t like Thrice or don’t want them to tour with another band I KNOW they haven’t seen them live. They are the best live band I’ve ever seen hands down.

I think the only band I've seen that sounded better live than Thrice is NIN, and that's very high praise.

Somebody needs to buy this and ask him to sign it at a show.

The negative about a Thrice show is that I selfishly want a 30 song setlist

How did I not know about this?! I looked up the non-baseball list of cards and it's very random. Somebody must have a connection or be a big Thrice fan because all 4 guys have cards but I don't see any other remotely similar bands. My brother still collects cards, I'll have to see if he's seen any of these

Crowd at the LA show had zero energy for both bands

That sucks for the sf show there wasn't as much crowd energy as the artist shows last year, but I think there was a mosh pit going on for Thrice and the crowd was singing along.

Brian and Benny from the Gaslight Anthem also had cards in the same set a couple years ago. They even had cards with stage worn pieces of fabric just like there are jersey cards etc.

That’s cool about the jersey type cards. Do they have drumstick cards instead of bats? Maybe a pick?

they're here in houston this wednesday and i still haven't got my ticket yet, even though the price dropped from 89$ to 59$. i love their beggars album, but for me that's more of an album i listen to kicking back with a few beers just unwinding. there aren't many tracks on that album that fill you with energy. and the 4 song encore only has one ( dead wake) that has heavy energy. plus, why aren't they playing answered in the encore instead/also?

the only thing keeping me interested actually is the fact that MO is headlining the show here, and it would be nice in mo 40's to come home from a concert at 9pm.

Even though I stayed for Manchester Orchestra I feel I could've left and not regretted it, Cope isn't very good I enjoyed their encore way more

Man, saw them in LA Wed night and thought they both sounded excellent. Beggars was pretty flawless live and Cope (my least favorite MO album) really came to life for me in that setting. Andy has the best live vocals I've ever heard.

Also, I was closer to the front, but the crowd definitely didn't seem dead where I was. Had a couple pits open up for Thrice. It was a huge room though so I could see it being quiet elsewhere.

saying Cope isn't very good is a wild take.

Just finished the 3 podcast episodes for Beggars on my drive to work this morning. Absolutely loved them. I am always surprised how calm and quiet the band is when they speak.

Really cool revisiting the album and hearing their insight, especially about the album leak and OG cover art. I still remember when all of that happened and everyone talking about the leak on AP.

Thrice is one of the few who've stuck with me over the years. I think they really hold up and got pretty nostalgic thinking about how much this band has impacted me over the years. Haven't really spent too much time listening to their last couple albums since the hiatus return, but may need to give them another try soon.

Also curious what my last.fm stats are for this band. I'll say that the Whaler is probably a standout track for me, but it would be really fun to attempt to rank a top 30 or something like some of you in this thread did back in June.

EDIT: Just checked my last.fm absolutely deplorable Thrice stats. 130 plays, haha (whaler was #1). They must have been mostly played on CD in my car back in the day and now I've got most of their records, so that's typically when I listen. I really do think they're one of the best to come out of this scene and just consistently pushed the boundaries of their sound with no attempt to cater or pander to labels or fans!

COPE is a kickass record. Not the best mastering, but i love hearing MO rock out. They started to lose me on Simple Math and i thought COPE was a fantastic return to form, somewhat. Had the chance to see them a couple months back when they headlined and played through and it was so much fun

For me it is uninteresting musically in comparison to a lot of their other albums.

I'm not a fan, either, but I don’t care for MO in general.

Hope really made it feel more alive and intricate. I get that it's not the most lush or diverse album, but damn does it go hard.
